Campbell drops Bama, no reason given. Moses dropped us because he said we wanted to redshirt him. Per BOL:mad2:

.I never thought either one of these guys would end up at Alabama. I know there were some that thought we have a good shot at Moses, but I just didn't see it at all.
I didn't read the article myself, was going on what another poster said on Tidesports. I refuse to pay for those premium sites.Moses didn't all together drop Bama. He dropped Tennessee. We're in his top 3, and he's going to take officials to Bama, UNC, OSU. He doesn't like that we asked him to redshirt, and I think that is the reason he won't end up here, but we're not out of it.
Campbell, well I just hope he doesn't go to LSU and I think he ends up staying up north
And one that is shared .I'd be a little weary of Campbell's comments, he didn't exactly eliminate Michigan all together, he used the word "probably." I wonder if he's not just trying to drum up some suspense about his decision before ultimately sticking with the Wolverines. Just a thought on my part.
He probably doesn't realize the reasoning for red shirting him. He would have a year to concentrate on his grades and him being raw around the edges he would have a year to correct some of the mistakes and after his 4th or 5th year he would be a lot higher draft for the NFL. I can understand him wanting to play the first year though and a lot of schools recruiting him will tell him anything he wants to hear to get him to sign then it will be too late. His mama should be thinking more on the educational side, and Alabama graduates more seniors than any school on his list.Campbell may very well still end up at Michigan, but it certainly seems like he is headed out of state. Initially after hearing that he had "eliminated" Michigan -- even though that's not really what happened -- I thought he has definitely LSU bound considering they signed five-star DT / OL Joseph Barksdale out of the same high school two years ago, but I'll be honest... after reading his comments regarding Miami, I think he's going to commit to the 'Canes if he spurns Michigan.
I wouldn't be overly shocked if he ended up at either Michigan or LSU, but right now I think the smart money is on Miami.
As for Moses, I'm not expecting much. He may very well not qualify academically, and even if he does there is a reason why our staff wants to redshirt him. He's huge, but he's very raw, and frankly unless he makes some big strides over the next nine months, he's going to redshirt next year regardless of where he goes and regardless of what those coaches may be telling him right now about starting / playing as a true freshman. At the very least, you have to give our staff kudos for being honest with the young man.
Maybe. Saban thinks Campbell is better suited for OL, i.e., not athletic or quick enough for DL.Davenport and campbell will be a hell of a DT combo
William Campbell will most likely end up on the offensive line wherever he goes. Remember Joeseph Barksdale from Cass Tech in Detroit two years ago? Well, he signed as a top rated DT with LSU, and is now their starting RT. I've heard as much specualtion from some LSU fans. Of course, he certainly hasn't been locked up by LSU just yet. I expect Miami to be a serious contender here.Davenport and campbell will be a hell of a DT combo
This reminds me somewhat of the Jerrell Powe saga in 2004, minus the elgibility problems of course.A bit of an update on Campbell...
The day after his comments "dropping" Michigan, many of the Rivals "experts" were talking about how he is well known for his sense of humor, and how you certainly shouldn't eliminate them at all.
Actually, the editors of most of the Michigan sites I've browsed still think he will sign with them, and honestly they are probably right. Regardless of his recent comments, the smart money is probably still on him being a Wolverine.
