Debating with UT fans is amusing

To this point, I have made sure I made fun of him, while he seems to think that attacking UA fans in general makes him a winner. Such classics include:

He states:
UA finished third in the SEC in 1941 (based on a site that had 5-2 in the SEC UA behind 3-1 in the SEC UA).
I pointed out that UA would be in 2nd, 1/2 game ahead of UT... his response?
UT was busy getting ready to fight in a war, so they couldn't play as many games.

I responded with:
UT played just as many games, just less conference games. Also, UA didn't field a team in 1943 because of the war, while UT just plugged on ahead. So while they were preparing to fight, we actually did fight.

He states:
Jokes about how UA played a high school team in 1890's and 1900's.

I respond with:
UT played a school for the deaf. We played kids... they played the handicapped.

He states:
UA only deserves 3 NC's. I said we could claim as many as 22. I linked the CFB link that demonstrates UA could show as many as 23. He links to CFB showing we could have as many as 11. He says he wins.

I respond with:
Only he would prove himself wrong and declare it a "win".

Just a few of the fun snippets.

A meeting of the minds and one mind didnt show up ????

LOL, isn't that usually the case in these scenarios?

He calls us arrogant, but UT is "confident". Then he changes the definition of arrogant to fit his arguement. Really, I've had more mentally stimulating conversations with my dog.

Now... oh, this is a winner:

He's saying that nothing good ever came out of Alabama.
Not bothering proving him wrong with historical facts, I just pointed out that there are kids from Alabama dying for him in Iraq.
His response? That it must bother me about the kids from Tennessee are protecting me.

Get that? He's losing so bad that he says something like that? I mean, the big thing, is that I have NEVER said anything bad about the people from Tennessee. I actually like the state. Sheesh.

Even lowering yourself to his level with those types of arguments is futile. It's best to stop now. I've been there, done that with UT fans.

Ask him to count the total number of wins UT has against Bama and compare that with the number of wins Bama has against UT. Then compare the number of bowl games each has been to along with the number of bowl wins. Then compare the number of SEC Championships and national championships (take just the # from the AP poll - it doesn't matter, Bama still has more).

The results speak for themselves and the conversation should end there.

Insults will get neither one of you anywhere.

(Climbing down off of my soapbox now . . .) :p

Living in TN my entire life (love the state, hate the school), I have learned that when a UTinkle fan tries to knock Bama or justify how on earth his/her school has a better tradition than Bama's, it's best to just nod your head and say, "OK. Did you finish that report." To which they respond, "yes sir."

UT fans are like Auburn fans

Having lived in Tennessee and Alabama all my life, I've found that no matter how good or bad Alabama, UT, or AU may be in any given season, those fans will always feel like they are looking up at Bama because deep down in everyone's heart, they know, and we know, it's true. Even when Bama has gone through a recent down time and even though they've beaten up on us lately, they know the Tide will rise again and they're skeerd to death!

I gave up arguing with them a long time ago.

Fact is, Tennessee has beaten us quite a bit as of late but even with that said, we still are a much prouder team and will start to show it next year.

It's time we take back the football field.

Just ask him two questions. Which team won the first SEC Football Championship way back when? Which team won the first SEC Football Championship game? That along with Bama's many other SEC accomplishments says it all.

Alabama

According to a customer of mine that was in WWII, told me that soldiers from Alabama had more metals for bravery than any other state.

Must be some way to find that info., but for the meantime I'll take the word of a veteran any day.
