I think this guy is going to surprise a lot of our causal fans. Sounds like a one and done and he may start from game one!
I don't think he starts over Nelson/Stevenson but he will be a major contributor and probably the highest drafted guy on the team next year.

This roster is hard to guess who will be starting at the 3/4 positions. Just so much talent and guys who can play multiple spots so this might be the closest to true positionless bball we have had.

He won't start over Nelson, but he could over Stevenson.

Really glad Stevenson came back but outside of his 3 point shooting, Reid is probably his superior already.

There is going to be competition for starts and playing time. This is a good thing. Having plenty of guys who can play at a high level gives Coach Oats the ability to sit folks who don’t want to give 100% on both ends of the floor.

Zach Breathwaite @ Bama Hammer said:
Veterans that fill obvious needs, like shot-blocking center Cliff Omoruyi and two-way wing Chris Youngblood, are very likely to start and play major roles. However, freshman forward Derrion Reid could have the greatest impact on the 2024-25 Crimson Tide.
