Terrible news. Rumors from OM fans are that it is spice related...
These kids now a days don't know to just say no. Pray that he is OK. Hope it touches more than just him when he recovers.

So Ole Miss plays us with him at full strength, but now he's got medical issues that likely will hold him out of the LSU game. I hate it for him, whatever the reason.

But it does seem to me the winds of fortune are always in our face, and never at our back. Off week scheduling by our opponents, strength of schedule, injuries to key players, things seem to have a way of stacking up against us more often than not.

I write it off as part of the price of being the best. When we win a title, we earn it, we don't back into it as a fluke.

You aren't the only one that feels that way.

Denzel seems to have a history of off the field problems in his time at Ole Miss.

Very sad, and especially sad if this related to the use of spice. If it was, it is not terribly surprising as I have heard some Ole Miss fans say he was a "train wreck waiting to happen". Sometimes you can't save people from themselves.

Whatever happened with Denzel, I wish him the best and a full recovery.

Prayers for this young man. I hope it is not drug related. A good friend of mine is an ER doctor and he says spice is one of the worst drugs he's dealt with due to its unpredictability and availability. Cases coming in nightly with it. Hope to see him wearing the blue and red real soon. He is a good defensive player with a future in football.

I have several close friends, who are trauma nurses at USA Medical and they see this all of the time. Most of these kids die from the crap. I can't understand why kids are still doing this junk. If you are going to do something like this, just smoke weed and eat a bag of chips and go to bed. This junk kills you.

Your concerns are totally misplaced. Pray the kid survives and learns something from the experience.

I don't care about him playing in the game. I care about him getting through this alive and learning from the experience, being a better person. It almost cost his life and thats something not to play with.

All one has to do is google high on spice and see what it does to you. These kids think they can get high on this stuff and it won't be detected on a drug test, but it does much more harm to you than reefer does.

yeah

this stuff is nasty and it has morphed incredibly over the years. The government keeps outlawing the specific molecule of synthetic canabanoid which causes the manufacturers in China to slightly alter the molecule making it technically legal until the Gov catches back up where they alter it yet again. It's a dangerous game and all these kids hear is "synthetic pot that won't show up on a drug test" so they give it a try. Most have no issues, a few end up in the ER and some in the ICU.

Smoking unknown Chinese synthetic chemicals sprayed onto unknown plant material (saw dust and other) is simply a really bad idea

FWIW, it's still a rumor that it's a spice OD. Regardless, I hope he's OK.

VICE did a great video about spice - it's horrible stuff. If you're interested, you can watch it on Youtube, it's called: The Hard Lives of Britain's Synthetic Marijuana Addicts

It's just a horrible drug, so dangerous.

Good grief, just risk it and smoke the real stuff...because you'll take a nap before ODing on the real marijuana.

Don't do drugs but seriously this is an idiotic risk to take to avoid weed during the season.

Thanks for clarifying that. I had thought it was outlawed a few years ago, and was wondering how it was still available.
