Do we think Ty wins the Heisman?

I feel as if he has a good shot because of how underwhelming the other top QB's in the country have been playing... what does everyone think?

Right now I think Simpson has to be in the top three in the nation wrt top players. He's playing the best, imo. But I'll be honest, I haven't watched anyone else from outside the SEC so I'm not going to say he should be the leader right now. But there's no way he shouldn't be in the top three of heisman candidates as of now.

No.

I mean, he COULD. But let's just be honest and admit straight up that winning the Heisman LARGELY depends on getting media hype. It's not as bad as it was before, oh, about 20 years ago, but it's still a large part of the equation. Being the front-runner does not matter as much as it once did - a Mark Ingram or Johnny Manziel or Derrick Henry can suddenly burst forth into the hype lead in October/November if he has a huge game with a big audience.

Now...if we run the table the rest of the way and win the SEC, he'll at least be a finalist. But I also suspect Auburn - given their history - is likely to not give a hoot if they win the Iron Bowl or not but will plot their strategy to give up 500 yards of rushing but never allow Ty to THROW the ball for yardage. They'll take a 52-0 beating to hold him to 112 yards passing and no TDs.

Go ask Mark Ingram if you don't believe me.

It depends on if we are 10-2 or Better and that will be decided by our defense as much as anything.

Right now the two Best looking QBs in CFB are Ty and the Moore kid at Oregon.

Pavia will hang around until Vandy loses a few games.

Mendoza at Indiana has crazy stats too and Sayin will be a contender at tOSU with them being #1.

Way too many variables at play right now to make an educated guess.

Prior to the season, I had a lot of concerns but right now I wouldn't trade Ty for any QB in the nation.

What about other positions? Are there any RBs anywhere putting up crazy numbers?

It seems like of late, the award goes to whomever has that "Heisman moment" late in the season.

I don't think he will but he has a shot. It seems like a relatively weak Heisman year. There is not Jayden Daniels type.

I think for him to win it we'd have to play in more shootouts than I'd like. That said I think he only has 1 turnover worthy play so far this year so if he's towards the top in total yards/Tds and has very few turnovers that is probably his best route to winning it.
