Question: Does anyone have an update on K. Norwood and his progression?

Norwood was tops among the freshman receivers during Fall camp and was expected to at least contribute on special teams . I'm not sure if he's bumped and bruised a bit or if the light simply came on for Bowman allowing him to pass Kevin . Either way if he does not play against N.Tx , I doubt we will see him on the field this year .

Very few players, even elite high school players, can come in and adjust to the speed of the game in preseason practices alone. The reports of Norwood doing well in camp were ambiguous...doing well with routes? catching well? making people miss after the catch? learning plays and audibles? Since most of us weren't there it is hard to know what "doing well" means.
If he is running with the first unit I think that could mean a number of things...not all of them meaning that he will start or even play on Saturday. CNS could simply be wanting to see if handles the responsibility well or if he picks his game up a notch. It is all about the process of Norwood maturing as a player and as a person. Plus, it isn't like we don't have experience and proven talent at that position.

By the way, just because Norwood hasn't played yet doesn't mean he won't play this year. Last year I had long since written off Smelley as a redshirt until he made a huge reception against Ole Miss and I had to figure out which new kid had just picked up a big 3rd down conversion. All of that is to say that Norwood will play when CNS thinks he can help the team.

"Doing well" .... meaning making a strong 3 week push for the 5th spot in the rotation , posting productive to impressive numbers in the scrimmages , not being assigned to the scout team when the rest of the youngsters , including Bowman , were and being singled out multiple times by Coach Saban . That's "doing well" enough for me :)

Exactly...I think Norwood had the best stats of any of the receivers in fall camp. That can't be "fluked".
