I would think that Tua and his family have had a plan in place since the first day he stepped on campus. They just haven't told anyone what it is. However, his injury may have changed those plans.

Not in that game. That game was won by the offense and special teams, not the defense.
That's true. I was thinking more along the lines of how we got to the championship game that season rather than the actual game itself. I don't think Coker could have gotten us there without the stellar defense. Might have lost that game if not for Saban's great onside kick call.

One of my favorite play calls from Saban.. and the smirk on his face afterwards was priceless.

Has anyone asked his father? They sure seem to make FAMILY decisions. So, if he stays, what QB or QB's may leave for playing time: Jones or Tyson? If he leaves and is drafted by whoever, what does his brother do, so that the FAMILY stays TOGETHER? Will Tyson stick around, get a GRADUATE degree and start as a redshirt-SENIOR? I voted that Tua goes for the $$$$$$$$ for the FAMILY, but that could mean losing his brother so that the FAMILY stays TOGETHER. I sure would like to be a fly on the wall in that home. That could be a very TOUGH decision. We would NOT be discussing this now, if those thugs weighing at least 500 lbs. had not fallen on him the way they did. Looks to me like it was INTENT to HURT Tua! They could have gotten him on the ground without the impact of 500+ lbs falling on his body. Hmmmmm. MSU's coach deserves to be FIRED IMHO.

Couple of things: First, I just think you are wrong about the MSU players intentionally trying to hurt Tua. They were trying to make a play and so was Tua...just wish Tua had thrown it out of bounds before they jumped him. If anything, I actually think Tua is more at fault. It's just my opinion but I think he fell awkwardly because he was trying to protect his tender ankle. Nobody will ever be able to prove it, but most athletes don't fall to the ground on their knees up under them as he did.

Second, I could be wrong, but with the QB talent at Bama and on the way, I don't think Tyson will ever see the field. And as much as I love Tua and his family, with the addition of Bryce Young, I also doubt Taulia has as much of a chance now.

The hip injury was not intentional. The nose injury was. The MSU player saw his helmet came off and hit his nose on purpose with his helmet. Should have been a 15 yard penalty.

I read today that Xavier McKinney got a 1st round grade today. I had heard he was thinking about staying but now with this 1st round grade, he may leave. It would be nice to have him back, but I understand if he leaves.
I’m surprised by that because he’s been good but not impressive. My gut tells me he’s probably about at his ceiling as a player though. He will not actually go in the 1st round but so do many of the guys we have who get first round grades. I don’t know if another season would significantly change his draft spot. He’s a 2nd rounder in 2020 or 2021.

I agree, but being a 2nd rounder is not exactly chopped liver. Alabama will be much better with him next year than without him.

I voted stay, but only out of wishful thinking. I’ve heard plenty of “step-sister’s husband’s boss’s college roommate” stuff. Honestly I want him to go for obvious reasons. He has been a wonderful ambassador not only for the University, but of his family and most importantly of Christ. I, as I’m sure all of you, would be sick if he got seriously injuries again. The only part of me hoping for a return is simply under the assumption he is able to achieve everything he is looking for out of a senior season; 1)Degree 2)Injury Free 3) Stiffarm Trophy 4)Natty. I’m worried that he’ll get hurt again though.

Sidebar- someone should just make a going pro/returning thread so us avid lurkers have quick access to the latest info 😌
