I voted he goes pro. I just don't see a valid reason for him to stay financially. I know others disagree but it seems to me that the way to maximize his earning potential and the safest move would be to go pro.

But I'm not him and there is a ton of smoke about him coming back. At this point I wouldn't be surprised either way.
I think he’s conflicted too. I think his heart wants him to stay and finish but his brain is telling him to start a new chapter.

while I would love for him to stay given his injury history I could not in good conscience advise him to do anything other than go pro.

I had a weird interaction with him that I can't share. I know that Alabama isn't involved in the Monday announcement, and I don't know what to make of that. Does that mean anything at all? 🧐

It makes no sense for him to stay, so why do I think he will? 🤷‍♀️

If he is using Twitter I lean towards coming back since the guys have usually used the press conference to announce and say thank you to the university and it lets Coach Saban heap some well deserved praise on them publicly one last time. I may be totally over analyzing.

A reporter was on Finebum, I spelled it that way on purpose, and he said the university wasn’t expecting Tua to give a second thought to coming back and has been very careful not to push him either way. They have supplied all the information possible, answered all questions, and then left the decision to Tua and his family. I think that is the way to play it. If he comes back it needs to be all him with no one from Bama pushing him.

True, because if he does return and gets injured again, experts and media will quickly blame Saban and say he manipulated him to return. Of course that’s not true but that’s what the media will portray.

The bottom line is Tua will not be healed until well into this year. It seems like a no-brainer to me.

He can graduate in August as he preps himself for the NFL 2021 draft. No playing football in 2020.

I don't think Tua will be game ready until deep into 2020 as a best case scenario.

I am not a doctor or psychic, but I play one on the internet...

Tua will be ready by the fall

Barring any unforeseen setbacks.

6 month recovery is the prognosis. Now set backs happen, but that would put him back by June with July and August to round into shape.

I'll just say I was pretty high on Mac coming into this season. There was a poll before the year, about who would be the backup QB. Several folks were laughing off the notion it would be Mac. I would think they've been disabused of that notion by now.
That would be me... Mac doesn't have the pinpoint accuracy of Tua, but most good QBs don't either. Mac got tossed into the fire this season. Mac was tempered in that fire.
Mac finished the season as a known commodity and he's known now as a good QB.
It appears I was wrong about Mac. I thought he might fade under pressure, and Talia would take over. I still see Lia as having a higher upside, so if Tua returns and Mac leaves, Lia becomes next man up.

My Nightmare scenario would be Tua leaving and Lia going thru the Portal.
Mac and a untested Freshman isn't something I like to think about. We benefited this year by having a back up who had game time, and proved to be a good QB.

The untested freshman is the top QB in the country, and his tape is unbelievable. If Tua goes he could beat them all out before the end of the year.

Mac was throwing seeds. It seems to take him a series or two but once he gets going he’s pretty vicious.

I wouldn’t be shocked if he stays and I feel like it is likely that he does, but I feel like he needs to go I heard an argument for him returning the other day on ESPN saying if he goes he and is drafted where they are projecting him he is guaranteed around 20 million, but if he returns and is able to be drafted higher he is looking at about 30 million guaranteed and they were asking is an extra 10 million guaranteed? I say no. With his injury history and just say he has another injury next year he will lose more. I say take what you get. Sometimes it is better to walk away instead of taking yet another chance.
