Tua’s release will be effective June 1. Given his injury and concussion history, IMO it is time to focus on taking care himself.

We know of several concussions, at least two of them severe. I'm betting there are more we don't know about.

Agreed that he should retire. Money to last several generations, and he needs to have the mental capacity to enjoy it.
Yeah, he hasn't been the same since seizing up on the field. He is not a good QB anymore. Just retire and enjoy the money. I know several teams need a QB right now even a temporary one. KC and Atlanta both do. Atlanta probably needs a permanent one.

Sadly, Tua is going to be a trivia stat on biggest NFL bust lists from now on. He had the heart and skill, but ultimately he didn't have the body. I hope he sees this as an opportunity to protect his health for his future life and his family.

Tough luck...but Tua played the "getting paid" game as well as anyone ever. Refused to sign for a lesser contract when he was healthy -- and received all the conditions he wanted in the contact. Now he is set whether he ever plays another down or not.

I guess you would be the one to ask, but has there ever been a NFL team to with lefties as QB1 and QB2?
I am not sure but it makes a lot of sense for a short term solution. You don't have to change your offensive line.

1) 1975 Oakland Raiders - Kenny Stabler and David Hamm*
2) 1989-90 Cincinnati Bengals - Boomer Esiason and Erik Wilhelm

* - one could argue this one. Hamm threw more passes on the year and appeared in seven games, but one could argue George Blanda (who only threw 3 passes all year) was "technically" the #2 man. A similar situation with the Bengals in that Turk Schonert started one game but Wilhelm appeared in more games and threw more passes.

By chance, there have been only 33 lefty quarterbacks in the history of the NFL.

Four have been on the Falcons roster - Tony Graziani, Michael Vick, Penix, and Tua.

One - Stabler - is in the Hall of Fame.

A right handed QB makes no sense for a short term solution. Tell Mike Bell to pound sand.
I love that didn't even have to say who, you just knew.

It is also the moron after them they call turtle. He doubles down by refusing to pronounce Tua's last name correctly. My opinion of that idiot is you don't get to have an opinion if you cannot pronounce his name correctly, despite hearing it said to you and not to mention working for a sports radio show.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad for Tua...evidently he loves football...I just hope that he doesn't have a life threatening injury. I am sure he is disappointed in how his tenure ended in Miami and wants to show them and the world that he can still play. He's a fighter...there is no doubt about that.

The whole NFL had a wild day in the first day of FA signings. Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker to the Chiefs, Mike Evans to the niners, Tua to the failcons
