the guy asked him how he liked the state of the dolphins franchise since saban had left. Shula's response? "Nick WHO...hahaha"

Later on in the interview, the guy tried to bring saban back up and asked what it was he didnt like about him. Shula said, "I dont want to talk about Nick Saban."

Don, Don, Don. Move on, man.

Honestly, sounds like Don tried to move on but the ESPN News guy brought him back up.
yeah, but shula got him excited and made him want to go back to it with his first response. his first question really had nothing to do with saban (it was about cameron) but shula wanted to bring negative attention to Saban, once again.

I've lost all respect for this guy. He is nothing but a bitter old man. Hard to believe this is the same man that led a professional football franchise to consecutive super bowl wins back in the early seventies....

I heard Daddy Shula's comments on ESPN this afternoon and these were my exact thoughts also, what a bitter old man.

I am not going to waste my time getting upset over it. It's not worth it. I actually think it's comical. He really comes across as a bitter, classless old man.

Wouldn't you stickup for your kid? While it's not Don's fault that CNS had real bum for a media relations consultant, it's also a parents wish that their child do well. If the powers that be would not have been so trigger happy and kept CMS contract in check for one more year this wouldn't amount to a hill of beans. I'm just glad that we did not hire Sly Croom, can you imagine the flack we would be taking if we fired him

Theres sticking up for a son...and then theres what Don is doing. I would never want my father whine about me being fired on national television. Would you? Thats just embarrassing for everyone involved. Mike is a grown man and can fight his own battles if he so chooses. He appears to have taken the high road...why cant his daddy?

It's one thing to take up for your kid. It's another to still be taking cheap shots at CNS on national television over eight months after his kid was canned. It reeks of sour grapes and it is classless. He's making a fool of himself.
I respect both CMS and CDS but come on now. I know the CNS hiring is especially hurting to CDS because it hurt both his son and the Dolphins, which he loves. It also does seem like the media takes every opportunity to rub it in his face though. It is over and done with and well time for CDS get over it and to put it in the past were it belongs. CMS was compensated well and shown the door for not performing up to the Alabama standards. End of argument.

I think he is bitter because it affected 2 important institutions in his life. 1st his son is fired from UA and 2nd, the new UA coach leaves his dolphins to replace his son. Don made it very obvious that he was proud of Mike for taking the high profile UA coaching job. He was also proud of the fact that Saban was coaching the Dolphins. I just think that UA screwed his world up in firing his son and taking the Dolphins coach to boot.....

I think alot of CDS's problems is his anger at his own son's stubborness, which ultimately resulted in Saban coming to Alabama.

From what I understand CDS, Kines, Rader, and even Mal Moore tried on several occasions to offer Mike good advice on how to handle certain situations, e.g. play calling by the HC, etc. etc. Instead of considering the advice offered by seasoned championship coaches, Mike ignored it and did things his own way.

As a parent its frustrating and painful to see your child not listen to what you say and then have to watch them suffer the consequences. I beleive that CDS did everything he could to get UA back on track, but Mike just wouldn't listen, and that's what most of his problem is. Just my 2 cents. :BigA:

Edit: I think the ESPN sleaze is just trying to stir up CDS so that he'll badmouth Saban on national tv, thus getting Sportscenter more ratings and inflating their pompous egos. What a bunch of jerks.
