I'm not so much making the case that Bama should be ranked ahead of Washington as I am making the case that Bama gets punished in the rankings by losing a close one to Michigan and gets no credit for beating Georgia, but Washington doesn't get punished at all for getting blown out. If the pollsters want to think Georgia is better than Bama then they might as well make Georgia #2 ahead of Washington since I don't think Georgia would have lost by 21. What bothers me is that one time we hear Team "X" is ranked ahead of Team "Y" because X beat Y head to head. The next time we hear Team "Y" is ahead of Team "X" because Team "Y" had fewer losses so head to head no longer matters.
