Epstein Files -- Be Careful What You Demand

The incompetence of this administration is absolutely incredible. Trump hires the dumbest people for the job.

Some of the files they are unredacting are crazy. Forcing at least 3 girls to marry foreigners to avoid deportation and threatening them with bodily harm if they refused. Underage girls were encouraged to recruit more underage girls. So, a sex trafficking pyramid scheme. They were initially told they would be providing massage services. During these "meetings," they were then pressured into sexual acts. They were paid for every "meeting" and paid additional money if they brought additional girls. Epstein reportedly required 3 "meetings" per day.

Yes, there are some documents with victims talking about having sex with Trump, Clinton, and Prince Andrew at Epstein's properties in NY and FL.

Essentially, someone at Trump's DOJ used the highlight function and highlighted the text in black. This leaves the underlying data intact. This can work if you then print the document and rescan it so that it is just an image of the document, but nope, they did not do that.

If this is the case then why has someone not already done this and then made their own "release"?
Uh, folks all over Reddit and Discord are doing this right now. I'm sorry if you do not want to click on the link provided and see for yourself.

I visited my parents in February 2016, and I saw a cultism grip my father I'd never seen previously. He had just turned 70 years old in November (so yes - he just hit 80 a month ago).

He had Fox News on the TV and he was sitting there, and this was just as the campaign was really getting going. Amazingly enough, he could spot every lie every Republican candidate told except one: Trump. I'm watching him and thinking, "You cannot be this dumb, Dad. I don't even disagree with you about this guy or that guy, but you actually believe this guy who wrecked a football league and casinos six times knows anything about building a wall?"

Then on Father's Day, he suffered 3 strokes and nearly died.

He hasn't been the same since. His latest isn't so much to think Trump is great as to say Biden was terrible.
The one time he DID part from Trump (thank God) was over the Covid vaccine. This is a guy who grew up fearing polio, so he didn't need any extra incentive to get the shot, esp as a diabetic.

But he's driven us all crazy, too.

Fox News was a common denominator with my Dad’s rapid mental decline.

Unfortunately he pretty much ate everything up at face value.

Fox News was on 24/7 for about 4 straight years and it almost drove me insane in tandem with being an untrained hospice nurse.

The only way I could and can deal with it now is to just tell myself that the Dad I had for the 1st 38 years of my life was not the same being as the Trump MAGA cult follower I was around for the final 4 years.

I would hope he would see the connection at least with Trump and Epstein but I doubt it. He would most likely regurgitate whatever Fox News is saying about it.

This is what happens when you have a 50-year history of stiffing people on money that you owe them and you don’t pay them every dime of it upfront.

Word gets around and the only people that will actually take the risk of working for you are the bottom feeders.

I’ve always thought it would be funny. If one day he winds up going to jail because he hired a lawyer with a strip mall law degree, like Michael Cohen, because he simply doesn’t wanna pay his bills.

Once this crime family is gone from the public arena, I'm thinking a Truth and Reconciliation Commission needs to be established. Give people immunity if they will just admit to what they did in the disservice of this country.
I heard the same stuff from the right when Biden was on his way out the door and I’m gonna tell you the same thing I told them: it ain’t happening. You might as well drop a silver dollar into a bus-station toilet and make a wish. Everybody in D.C. knows where the bodies are buried and it’s impossible to expose one side without exposing the other. That’s about the only thing we’ve actually learned from the Epstein files.

What popped into my head was the Southwest Airlines commercial, "Want to get away?"
There are probably a number of DOJ/FBI employees asking themselves this right now.
The question is why they want to get away.

Is it because they’re about to be pantsed? Lots of that from both red and blue appointees.

Or is it bacause they can’t believe what a dumpster fire a once-respected organization has become. And they want to be somewhere — anywhere — else before they get caught up in a scandal while just trying to make their mortgage payment?

Agreed on all points.
I had a student who was an FBI agent. When it appeared Hillary had violated procedures for handling classified info, and the Director of the FBI was personally overseeing the case, I told my student I sensed danger both for the Director and the organization. No matter what the Director did, half of DC was going to be angry.
That moment was a watershed.

Do yall think this botched redactment is incompetence or on purpose? I have a hard time believing that an organization that regularly redacts documents would accidently release these files in a format that would easily allow for copy and paste into a word document.

Accidental is the simplest explanation.

If it was purposeful, someone got a conscience and decided the docs should go to the public. But they did so in a way that made the "redactions" easily un-done, trusting that the public would figure it out.

But if public disclosure is the goal, they know they're fired regardless of how that happens. And they're obviously unsure as to the intricacies of Word. So it would be a lot easier to just "accidentally" release the docs in their original form and not worry about what-ifs.

I think it's far more likely that someone thought the verbiage was replaced by highlighting in black and did that not realize that it was ridiculously easy to un-highlight and reveal the underlying text.

not sure in this case, but during the first iteration of this clown show, they did the exact same thing with some release.

i think it's safe to use trump's razor to analyze it. assume stupidity

Occam's razor is what first came to my mind. Getting fired for leaking it this way was on my mind too. Still, this is a such a major screw up that it's hard to fathom.

Trump's razor sounds hilarious. If it went well, Trump did it. If it went poorly, you did it. If something gets built because of it, put Trump on it and gold plate the toilet.

We lost my father in January... He was always on the hard working conservative side and never really went full MAGA, but certainly listened to too much Fox News...

My mother made the comment recently (and she is very kind but deeply Christian lady who trends conservative in values) that she did not miss Fox news and the shrill commentary. "They made everything into a crisis every single day all day long..." She hated it.

But so many don't see it slowly infiltrating and how the YouTube feeds proffer ever progressive wonkiness into your feeds... On both sides.

I mean, there is a reason when I load up YouTube that is has 750+ mountain biking, Star Trek, and various Crimson Tide videos play...

Visited the folks for Christmas.

Got my dose of Fox News, it's more lethal than the Covid jab.

(I wasn't sure if I should put the last five words in blue font or not since I'm not an opponent of vaccination in any sense, but Fox IS more lethal than the vaccine.

Easily. In the US there has been fewer than 50 confirmed deaths due to COVID vaccination. At the last review 10-14 deaths were attributed to myocarditis (much higher with actual COVID infection) and at least 10 deaths occurred from the quickly removed from the market J&J adenovirus vector vaccine due to rare occurrences of a TTP like syndrome.

With this bunch, I'm taking a wild guess and suspecting incompetence. It abounds. Far worse than 43's political appointees. You don't put idiots at defense and the FBI. We have a purported Russian asset in charge of national security.

Nobody but the believers of Breitbart are going to "both-sides" these two administrations. Not even close.

Yeah, I knew it was somewhere around 20 or less, but you cannot convince these amateur Louie Pasteur's that they don't have the first damned clue what they're talking about, either.

Fauci needs to be tried because the vax killed 7 million people says one meme.

There were over 13 billion doses of the Covid vaccine administered worldwide by March 2023. EVEN IF 7 million were killed by the shot.....do they not realize that's a "death caused by shot" of .00054 %? And, of course, 7 million were not killed by "the jab," a snide term that gives away the motivation of the advocate immediately.
