They dont even give Arkansas a shot. They played in the game last year and have McFadden coming back.

Let's face it, though...Arky ended the season on a downslide, and at the very least, the offseason has been...er...colorful? They won't do what they did last year...although McFadden is indeed great.

Other than that, they just chose the two most likely to succeed from each division. They probably would've been better served just asking the question...without giving choices. But then you would have people just voting for their favorite school...justifiably or not.

Not even UT or USC?? I agree, I think they just decided they were only going to choose 4 teams to include and that was that. But I guess the people outside the SEC still don't understand just how unpredictable it can be.

I really do think we will be the dark horse, and NO I won't count us out, I think we have as good of a shot as the other 11 teams, though in my life, I have NEVER thought Bama was going to lose a game, before a game I have never said "well were are definitely going to lose this one"... Not through the Dubose Era, not even the Shula Era, when the ball is in the air on the opening kickoff, I fully believe Alabama is going to win...

realistically, its going to be tough, but I think we have talent on this team and a lot of the media is counting Bama out and saying "they will be tough in a few years"... I say, why not this year? I think we have a whole new frame of thought and motivation at the capstone, NONE OF US or none of the Media know what to expect, so I will let it play out... But if we end up being a contender, I can't wait to see the media eat crow on Shula not deserving to be fired

I wouldn't cash out Arkansas just because of the off season theatrics. The hawgs are predicted to have a nasty offensive line this season and the only thing that kept them from winning it last year was a passing game. If they can get ANY kind of consistent passing game they're going to be tough to beat.

It might be blasphemy, but I think Tennessee has a decent chance in the East. Georgia has some holes to fill on their OL and UF is replacing a LOT of people. They have talent to fill in, but how long will it take to mesh? With that said, LSU is (or should be) the hands-down favorite to win the SECC. They have two capable QBs (not as good as JR, but capable) and simply reloaded at safety with Steltz (again, not as good as Landry, but a quality starter).

That's going to be a problem again with only 1 true Wr threat in Monk and at best, an unproven QB. Don't forget about the guys they're replacing on D. They still have Harrison, but I would be shocked if Ark finished #2 in the West. I'd say the West will be: LSU, AU, Bama, Ark, OM, and MSU.

This poll shouldn't read "Which team WILL win the SEC title" as much as it should read "Which team has the best chance to win the SEC title". ESPN weirdos.

I thought Arkansas only returned two starters on the o-line. Were the back-ups last year that good, or did they just mature and are ready to go. I'm just not used to having a good offensive line, so losing three starters wouldn't seem like a plus.
I'd have to pick LSU to win the SEC based on returning 16 starters from a top three team last year. The did lose some studs to the NFL, but they have the talent and depth to put very capable guys in their place. The only question for LSU is- can Miles consistently win the big game? We'll see.

I think the SEC is going to be wide open this season. I don't think Florida will win the East nor do I think LSU or Arky will win the West. We shall see.

Who DO you think will win the respective divisions...and why? It's easy to say "I don't think xxx will win it". For me, I don't think Vandy will win the SECCG.

I've got to stick by my guns and my mouth. Months before Saban was even hired or considered a real possibility I said "Who ever takes over this team will win the west in 2007." I believe the lack of size on the defensive side of the ball will be more than made up by the depth, experience and talent on the offensive side of the ball. Bama will be involved in some shootouts in 2007. In 06 we could move the ball on anybody between the 20's. The same players are coming back but with one more year of experience and this time around they'll actually be in physical shape.

As for the east until you beat the champs they're still the champs so I'm going with Florida. Florida lost a lot but they are still the National Champs.

I'll be the first to give it to LSU to win the west , and if they don't I'll be the first to rub it in all over, because there is absolutely no reason they shouldn't.
