States of recruiting: Alabama becoming home of great centers - ESPN
The state of Alabama has produced some elite talent in recent years, with prospects like offensive tackle Andre Smith in the 2006 class, wide receiver Julio Jones in 2008 and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick in 2009. This year, the state does not have that elite five-star prospect, but overall there is good talent available.

There are 10 four-star prospects in the 2011 class as well as a pretty good pool of three- and high two-star talent. There is not one real position of strength within the state, but two interior offensive lineman do rank among the top five prospects in Alabama. Overall, the positions with the best quality depth this year are defensive end and wide receiver; the WR group is led by two four-star prospects, Marvin Shinn (Prichard, Ala./Vigor) and Danny Woodson Jr. (Mobile, Ala./LeFlore Magnet).

In the article above ESPNU is talking about recruiting the state of Alabama, not the nation. It is a down year in the state but Bama is getting who they want in state with a few exceptions.

By ESPNU's own measure Bama is dominating the barn in the 2011 College Football Recruiting - Top 150 - ESPNU 150. It looks like if things go as expected in recruiting, Bama will be way out in front of AU with one of the top signing classes on NSD 2011.

Ahh. and the world is back in order. We haven't dominated this state this year because there isn't a lot of top caliber players. We can recruit nationally and AU really can't. We'll cherry pick the best then go elsewhere. I think the only ones we don't get in the state are ones not high on our list and die-hard barners growing up.
I am excited about next year's class though.
