Everything Is Going to Be Fine

You nailed it, Gilbert!

The QB is exactly why we only had 5-10% of the playbook available.

Since so many people (not aimed at you) keep saying that Simpson should have come in, let me remind them that the rest of the offensive players (OL, RB & WRs) were only practicing with the limited playbook as well. So its not like putting in Simpson would have made the rest (or any more) of the playbook available.
True.........but how many of those wide open receivers could Simpson have hit that Milroe didn't see?

From some reports, Grubb isn't long for Seattle.............could possibly get both Grubb and Huff back
I'd be very careful bringing on someone who who gave every indication of being averse to living in Tuscaloosa. Grubb practically cried in his farewell letter to UW, then despite CKD's being responsible for his career-to-date bolted at the first opportunity but after it was too late to attract another proven OC (to be fair, one counterpoint - he did wrap up Ryan Williams' recruitment while he was on the staff). Based on the (albeit scant) evidence so far, I'd be willing to bet either that he's wedded to the upper midwest/west coast (he's lived his entire life in one of the two) or that his wife is Rita Rodriguez 2.0...

Okay:

1. We did ran condensed offense. This has been said many times from people who is close to the program.
Alabama football's Kalen DeBoer: much of offense won't be installed

The offense he really want to run requires different skillset at QB, OL and WR.

2. The RBs had same issue that we had last year: they couldn't find a hole to run through. Part of that is on RBs and their RB coach. Gillespie is the holdover from last year.

3. On Sheridan: You're trying to force a square in a circle argument. How many games did he call game clean this season? He called run plays in passing situation. he called passing plays in run situation. He isn't very good at finding rhythm with playcalling.

4. The OL- Again you're finding very reason to blame Milroe.. You pretty much proved the point. OL play was real bad this year, but yet you choose to ingore that part and blame it on Milroe 100 percent. The Tackles at both side gave up the most sacks this year.

5. How could you tell Milroe to transfer when he held the team together after CNS retired? This was Milroe's team. Like I said before... Gotta take emotion out of this and see things differently. I didn't want to go back and forth with everyone... But it seems like everyone isn't understanding the point I made and just chose to find a way to pile it on Milroe but isn't seeing the big picture... I hate that for some of us. But anyway Like I said to everyone... Nobody dont have to agree with me, but I'm not going back and forth with Milroe. My position on the situation still stand and I'm looking at it from netural perspective. I shared my thoughts on this.. and it's whatever. Happy new year! See you guys soon!
There is over 100 players on that team it’s an insult to them to say this is milroes team and we are going to play him to their detriment. Tell Ryan Williams and the receivers to go kick rocks this is Jalen’s team.

Could be............someone constantly looking homeward wouldn't have been good for continuity

Yeah but Milroe couldn’t even execute the 10% of the playbook that remained. There no way Ty is worse than Milroe. I will not accept that.

It was only “Milroe’s team” because he bought it. It’s basically Disney Star Wars all over again, which is to say crap.

So another reason to add to the list for benching him.
Yeah, this is all DeBoer’s fault. Milroe is the root cause, but DeBoer is ultimately responsible for fixing it. The fact that we never tried another QB tells me there is something else going on that people don’t know about. There’s simply no excuse to keep doing something when you know it’s not gonna work.

Something to consider is that let’s say he puts Ty in there and he does well vs a Michigan team that is on practically their 3rd string defense… what does that mean for Mack and the others who are seriously trying to get the job next year. A lot of our problems with getting stuck with Milroe probably stem from him getting PT in 2022 in major moments.

It means Ty is likely the starter in 2025, which is exactly where we are right now anyway. You don’t keep the starter in the game when he sucks…repeatedly. Who cares about hurting the 3rd stringer's feelings. My God, man…

Im not so certain Ty is definitely the man next year. I think there is a legitimate question on whether thr other two are better options.

If the issue for Grubb is the humidity, can we just get him a mobile office with hvac so that he's constantly air conditioned? Stick a loud mic on the outside of it so players can hear him calling out commands/instructions.

If Coach Bryant can have a tower, surely we can do something like this.

Sigh. It’s like Ty slept with someone’s sister. I just don’t get it. We have seen him make throws in real games. We have seen him evade pressure…IN REAL GAMES.

Maybe not. This from a Keelon Russell interview:

Russell, during a check-in on Sunday, with On3 would have much to say about his conversations with the Tide staff.

“What jumps to me is the fact they want me to come and be the starting quarterback ASAP,” Russell told On3. “Like I talk to Coach DeBoer, while I was in his office, laid-back, chill I knew I was getting the honest truth out of him."

It's that fire in his eyes Colby...didn't you hear?? :geek:

I didn't say that.

Just saying that the playbook wouldn't have been any greater in size. Simpson absolutely would have been much better at running what little we did have available...
