Firefox update ?

I'm relatively new to using Firefox as a browser. Yesterday a small red circle with a white arrow in it showed up on the navigation toolbar. When the mouse pointer crosses it, a "critical updates" box appears, and when I click on it, a Firefox 1.0.3 dialog box pops up.

The update will not download; multiple attempts have failed. Has anyone else had this situation? Any recommended remedies? Other related sage suggestions?

Mine updated perfectly. What you may want to do is to uninstall and redownload. I had problems updating my Googlebar extension and finally I just uninstalled, reinstalled and updated.

I concur, just uninstall, then download the new version. I really like Firefox, if I could only convert my wife.

Are we going to have to uninstall and reinstall every time "Firefox" has updates? I'm new to Firefox also but really like it except for the uninstalling and reinstalling for updates. I couldn't get the updates just by clicking on them.

Shouldn't have to everytime. My browser updated fine twice.

You don't actually have to uninstall. The updater actually just downloads the latest version and installs it.
