  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

Thanks for all the comments. Not our first rodeo and also something every Bama fan can relate to.

The good news is basketball season is on the way! :)

Here's a very well written article that does a good job providing the big picture on the Napier experiment:

And thus begins the chaos, Auburn will likely feel pressured to cut Freeze loose so they can get in on the coach poaching. I hope our coaches if they are candidates will finish the job here before turning to any future opportunities. I've always hated how they start the coaching search in the middle of a season.

I will say this, I've been watching this game for 40+ years. The game has fundamentally changed since NIL and free player movement. The blue bloods still have "in general" more talent than those formly known as "lesser", but the lesser teams have been able to sap 2's from the blue bloods and fill in talent from shools below them and the effective net result is that the gap between say an Alabama and say a Vanderbilt is really quite small, a stretch of injuries can pretty much end a season, and for the coaches..... Coaching is more important than ever and one of the most important things they can do is get consistent effort from their players and be able to respond when they lose. Losing is almost a certainty for every team today unless you're sitting up in Ohio playing a high school schedule essentially waiting for the playoffs to arrive so you can trot out your store bought NFL team to win another title.

For Ohio State the only challenge is apathy.

I know kiffin’s name is getting thrown around but i think that ship has sailed. Kiffin seems content at being at Ole Miss and there are only a handful of jobs that he would leave for and a place like Florida isn’t one of them.

I suspect Rhett Lashley and Golesh will be hot names going around since it’s almost too obvious that Rhule is most likely the target at PSU.

That just made me remember when Will Muschamp and Tom Herman were the hot names getting thrown around. Womp womp (but just goes to show how much of a crap shoot judging HC potential is!).

The thing is I think the correct career path is G5 to lower big conference job to power job. I just think we see too many G5 geniuses get exposed when they get premier jobs. Yes heupel is an exception but I think the flavor of the month in G5 world is not a great choice for a serious program

Okay guys please, if you would, elaborate here, even if only briefly...

Thanks...
Well, I would like to have the same OC next year, but Grubb's playcalling out of the half is weird. I don't know what it is but it isn't consistent. He tends to go away from things that work and repeatedly do nothing that worked in the first half.
