And thus begins the chaos, Auburn will likely feel pressured to cut Freeze loose so they can get in on the coach poaching. I hope our coaches if they are candidates will finish the job here before turning to any future opportunities. I've always hated how they start the coaching search in the middle of a season.
I will say this, I've been watching this game for 40+ years. The game has fundamentally changed since NIL and free player movement. The blue bloods still have "in general" more talent than those formly known as "lesser", but the lesser teams have been able to sap 2's from the blue bloods and fill in talent from shools below them and the effective net result is that the gap between say an Alabama and say a Vanderbilt is really quite small, a stretch of injuries can pretty much end a season, and for the coaches..... Coaching is more important than ever and one of the most important things they can do is get consistent effort from their players and be able to respond when they lose. Losing is almost a certainty for every team today unless you're sitting up in Ohio playing a high school schedule essentially waiting for the playoffs to arrive so you can trot out your store bought NFL team to win another title.
For Ohio State the only challenge is apathy.
