For future reference, Tuscaloosa restaurant recommendations?

As I said in another thread, my son has decided to attend Alabama starting next fall. We are very excited for him and look forward to visiting him. We are planning a trip the weekend after Easter, bringing his girlfriend, meeting our daughter and son-in-law from Atlanta (GT grads) and just enjoying ourselves.

Can you guys give us some restaurant recommendations? We've eaten at Dreamland, City Cafe and Cypress Inn, which are all great places. Any other suggestions?

breakfast at ramma jamma's........a big meal there will keep you going all day long.

I recommend breakfast at the Waysider, then. Very good. If you like seafood you should try Wintzell's Oyster House right across the bridge in Northport (unless of course, you live in a coastal city and you are spoiled to the very freshest seafood). There are a couple of good places downtown on Greensboro you should try. Finally, trying searching threads -- back during football season there was a pretty long one on where to eat in T Town that made some really good recommendations.

Nothing wrong with that plug...

The food is outstanding. I've eaten at the place in Guntersville also and it was very good too.
(Either place is quicker than a trip to the coast)

Good place, loved Wintzell's in Mobile and the Tuscaloosa one is a nice piece of the gulf up here for us landlocked folks. haha.

The Waysider is my favorite for breakfast. I used to eat there every Saturday morning, when I was in school. I still go when I'm back in Tuscaloosa for games.

I used to eat at the City Cafe quite a bit too. Loved going to Mike and Ed's for BBQ, as well as DePalma's for Italian.

If you likd buffalo wings "Wings" is one of my favorite.

I think Buffalo Phil's is better, everytime I've eaten at Wings, I have left disappointed. We just hit BF's once or twice depending on how many home games we see. Milo's is not that bad, I'd rather eat there than a Wendy's or McDonalds. Guthrie's is pretty good, even though their chicken fingers keep getting smaller and smaller each year.

It's right across the street from BDS. On the corner of Bryant and Wallace Wade, right near where the South Endzone expansion is going on.
