yep i posted on this in bama ky thread last night. i did calculations and now we are in 3rd but not behind by much. I think I remember our elite 8 team shooting in the low 70% range that season. I just compared this seasons stats to the elite 8 team and they are very close to the same. this season our guys are just slightly worse at FT% and 3p% and scoring 1.6 points a game less. 05 06 team is better in several areas so far than the 03 04 team.

I think we must give credit to CMG and staff for the consistently good FT shooting we see from Bama the past several years. It is great to see players demonstrate marked improvement in FT shooting from year-to-year, or even in the same season. J. Davidson is certainly one of those players. Evan Brock has improved as well. It is obvious to me that CMG stresses this. Look at Erwin Dudley and Chuck Davis. Both big men who were good, clutch free throw shooters; and both could get to the line like no one's business. Obviously, CMG isn't the one stepping to the line and making the shots, but I believe deserves credit for emphasizing this critical aspect of the game.

It looks like our free throw shooting is improving as the year goes on. We looked much better from the line in the Kentucky game than we did earlier in the year.
