Let's go down the list:

Arizona - Josh Rosen: Tua.

Atlanta - Matt Ryan: Close. I never liked Ryan much in college. He's done better in Atlanta than I thought he would. Tua certainly has more upside. Ryan gets it for now.

Baltimore - Lamar Jackson/Joe Flacco: Tua.

Buffalo - Josh Allen: I like Allen a bunch. Harder call than people think. Tua has more upside but Allen has a gun.

Carolina - Cam Newton: I almost can't answer this one because of personal bias. Tua will have a better career. Newton would be a better option right now if both were on the Panther roster.

Chicago - Mitch Trubisky: Tua. But Trubisky is better than I expected him to be.

Cincinnati - Andy Dalton: Tua.

Cleveland - Baker Mayfield: Right now, it's Mayfield. He really picked things up quickly there.

Dallas - Dak Prescott: Tua, and not particularly close.

Denver - Case Keenum: Tua.

Detroit - Matthew Stafford: Stafford. For now.

Green Bay - Aaron Rodgers: Rodgers.

Houston - Deshaun Watson: Tua.

Indianapolis - Andrew Luck: Luck.

Jacksonville - Blake Bortles: Leading candidate to have a #TankForTua campaign next year.

Kansas City - Patrick Mahomes: Mahomes, but not in a runaway.

LA Chargers - Phillip Rivers: Rivers is going to be viewed as better now but if that was my team I'd be trading him and drafting a replacement. I'm not a Rivers fan.

LA Rams - Jared Goff: Goff looks like the real deal. Certainly more pro-ready at the moment.

Miami - Ryan Tannehill/Brock Osweiler: Tua.

Minnesota - Kirk Cousins: Tua.

New England - Tom Brady: Brady. Although he is on the downside of his career.

New Orleans - Drew Brees: Brees by a significant amount if the measurement is weighted heavily to "right now."

New York Giants - Eli Manning: Tua.

New York Jets - Sam Darnold: I'm taking Tua. I saw enough of Darnold's INT rate in college.

Oakland - Derek Carr: Tua. I think Carr is overrated but Gruden has made that team a laughingstock so, maybe he just has nothing to help him.

Philadelphia - Carson Wentz: One of the hardest calls on the board. If you went off pre-injury, it was Wentz, but then he got hurt and Philly kept trucking because of their system and personnel, so maybe Wentz isn't such a big deal?

Pittsburgh - Ben Roethlisberger: Big Ben for now. Only Brees, Rodgers and Brady are better when Ben is at his best.

San Francisco - Nick Mullens/Jimmy Garoppolo: Tua over Mullens, Jimmy G. over Tua but I would like to see a larger sample set from him. So lacking that, I'm going to take Tua.

Seattle - Russell Wilson: Wilson. He's perfect for that team and he's a little more durable than Tua, which is necessary in that climate.

Tampa Bay - Ryan Fitzpatrick/Jameis Winston: Tua all day, every day.

Tennessee - Marcus Mariota: The other 2019 #TankForTua possibility.

Washington - Alex Smith/Colt McCoy: Looks like Smith's career may be done. Tua strongly over Colt (sorry, Daddy).

Working off my list, I took Tua outright 18 times out of 32 possibilities, with another 3-4 maybes. And keep in mind I'm talking about Tua *right now* as a college sophomore over guys in the League, including some that have been in the League awhile. Regardless, whether you come up with 12 or 16 or 18 or 22 or whatever, that shows you what defenses are having to deal with when they play Alabama in 2018: the prospect of defending a guy who may be better than more than half of the current starters in the NFL.

Tua could end up being a “bust” in the NFL if he goes to the wrong team. Some teams are just so bad they would make Brady look bad. Watson is a prime example.

Possibly, but the higher he is drafted, the greater his chances. Yes, it means that he is going to a weak team, but it won't be Cleveland.

Also, if he is drafted #1, he will make a lifetime's worth of money even if he never starts a game.

Uhh, I think you are talking about Deshaun and they are 7-3 with a good chance of winning tonight extending their win streak to 8 games.

To the OP's question, I agree with most but Cousins is having a fabulous statistical year and has for the last couple of years.

I mean, if you stuck him on a bad team with little talent he'd look as bad or worse than many NFL QBs... But in terms of talent and potential he's far better than many.... So I'm not really sure I understand the question.

I'll disagree with this post on two levels -- 1) Watson looks great and the Texans are currently 7-3 and the 3 seed in the AFC and 2) Brady needs that Pats system as much as any QB. If he got drafted by the Browns he'd be a financial adviser in the Bay Area right now.

Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Goff and Mahomes are better right now. If I had one of the first 3 I'd draft him anyway because of their age. He would be a perfect fit in New Orleans or Atlanta IMO. Perfect for the Saints because of the coach, the Falcons because of the receivers.

If Matt Ryan did not have the talent he has at receiver, he would have been out of the league years ago. He has been lucky to have great receivers to throw to.

You have to be the right fit in a system and the owner/general manager has to be willing to build around a QB and field some type of a defense too.

I don't know why Ryan gets such a bad wrap. Yes he has Julio Jones, but he won the MVP with Mohamed Sanu as his #2 receiver. Nothing against Sanu, but I wouldn't classify him as great and he still doesn't have a reliable TE since Gonzalez retired several years ago.

As for the QBs that the OP identified that he'd take Tua over; I'd still take Dak and Trubisky over Tua today. Long term, I think Tua is better than both, but today I'm taking those two. Now that Dak has Amari to throw to, he's looking like he did when he took over for Romo initially.

It would be fun to see Tua running the New Orleans Saints offense with Sean Peyton calling plays. Tua reminds so much of Brees and even Gary Danielson has used the comparison several times this year.

Fun to think about but we have to remember that everything is relative. All the NFL quarterbacks are performing against all NFL defenses. Tua maybe sees 2 - 4 NFL caliber players per game, many times less than that.

Doubtful Tua ends up in New Orleans. He will end up on a team with a high draft pick. By the 2020 draft, the Raiders will probably have all 32 1st round picks.

Reading a defense in the NFL is VASTLY different then College. Not to mention, the NFL game is a lot faster and you better be a fast processor of information. I'm not ready to say hes better then anyone just yet until I know where he gets drafted to and who his OC, QBC and HC will be and until he plays a snap in the NFL.

I just know that right now, hes the best in CFB but then again, a lot of QB's who were considered the best in CFB ended up being total busts in the NFL.
