Game time question

Which time slot is the considered the best slot from the point of view of the networks? The 2:30 CBS or 6:30 ESPN?
I'm looking ahead to the Iron Bowl and hoping for a 6:30 game. I goofed and made plans that weekend and will be driving back from Ft. Walton on Sat. I'm hoping for a 6:30 kickoff so I don't miss half the game.

Generally CBS is considered "the best," although a couple of times a year ESPN gets first choice (like this week when they picked Bama/UGA)

ESPN never has first choice for an individual weekend. They do get to make 3 priority picks before the season, which is done as a draft with CBS. This system will go away next year, with the new contracts. CBS will retain right of first selection for all games.

The tentative plan is for CBS to carry the UGA-Tech game at 11:00 and Auburn-Bama at 2:30. They could still swap those times, but that is unlikely, as the Eastern time zone game works better in the early slot. CBS could also change their mind and carry another game instead, but the only other game that they have the rights to that day is Kentucky-Tennessee, so that seems doubtful to happen.
