Been watching a few of the games I recorded here and there over the last few weeks and a few things have stood out as they relate to this year:
ARKANSAS: Overall a decent game on Offense but our Defense let them stay in it with their running game. Real nail biter. Arkansas, with McFadden is going to be tough this year. I hope that they can't pass and we can stack the box at will because this is going to be a tough game, especially at their house.
FLORIDA: I don't really know how Florida will make such a whopping turn around unless Leak becomes superhuman or Tebow sneaks up to SC and learns to play QB from a real Gator. Leak looked completely out of sync in this Offense. They had a great Defense last year and our OL did a pretty decent job in pass protection and Croyle looked steller. I'm not really that impressed with them the way the media is, except for their Defense which might be better. I think if JPW gets a little confidence with the forward pass we can beat them, especially if we come off a win at Arkansas. BTW, they have no running game.
UT: Maybe the best Defense we played all year besides the Texas Tech game. Offense looked decent at times, sluggish at times. The cracks in the OL really starting to show. There's alot of question marks with UT now. I think our game with them will depend on their QB play because it was weak last year.
LSU: Really interesting game. We actually looked pretty good in the first half, second half our woes really started. Defense once again looked good, but gave up a few big plays. Offense moved the ball at times despite LSU doing some of the craziest blitzes I have ever seen. LeRon Landry is a stud at Safety and their DL was maybe the best in the SEC, but now Wroten and Williams are gone. LSU also had a dominating OL last year, but this year is a ?. They will probably have a little fall-off, but not much. We can beat this team but it's going to be close. They are the most talnted team we will probably face. BTW, I hope Wallace Gillberry nails JaMarcus Russell after he basically walked past Wallace trying to congratulate him after the game.
AUBURN: This game was maybe the worst OL performance I have ever seen or hopefully ever will see. Missed blocks on pass protection and absolutely no run blocking. We looked like a pee-wee team against an NFL team. In fact, I will not ever watch the game again because I erased it. If I was the coaching staff, I would play this game in the weight room every day until the Iron Bowl this year and make the OL starters wear Auburn shirts this Fall. I tell you, if we aren't coming in to this game with pure hatred for Auburn and willing to do whatever it takes to win by both coaches or players, I will start to question Coach Shulas ability to motivate his team. I'm sure Coach Bryant did 4 flips in his casket that day. There should be no way Auburn comes to BDS and walks out with a win.
