There's little way to get true "justice" in an NCAA violations case like this. We came as close as possible when the offending players served the appropriate suspension and were subsequently reinstated for play by the NCAA.
I'm thankful we didn't lose scholarships, but we all know that the concept of vacating wins is ridiculous. Do you think that any vacated win will ever be shown on ESPN Classic, with a crawler at the bottom of the screen stating, "This game was actually won by the loser."??
But, in the spirit of re-writing the record books, my question is, "Where does the worst-to-first type turnaround by Coach Nick Saban rank him on the all-time list of coaches? How many coaches have taken over a program and have produced a record of 2-11 (or 1-12, depending on the source) and then followed it up with an undefeated regular season and a 12-2 overall record? I say that this only adds to the mystique of our coach when someone is parusing the historical records 30 years from now.
