I had a great trip and a great time in Tuscaloosa this weekend. I've always enjoyed visiting the Alabama campus, regardless of the wins or losses. It's just always been a great atmosphere every time I've been and it's my favorite road trip in the SEC.
Congrats to the Bama team for fighting hard and showing a lot of guts out there on the field last night. After last weekend, it would have been easy to claim they were tired and they could have given up during numerous points in the game...but to their credit, they fought tooth and nail for the entire 60 minutes and then a few. I thought the Tide played a solid game and was really impressed with the resilience shown by your team. You guys and gals are right to be proud of them and excited for them...so don't let any of these talking heads or pencil pushers get to you with their mocking, condescending articles or comments. CNS has already made a difference since he's been there and it's evident in the way your team plays. With another season or two in his system, Alabama will be a team that you Tide fans will really enjoy following. As a matter of fact, it's not hard for me to envision a game like last night's being played a couple of years down the road inside the Georgia Dome in the month of December...and that will certainly be something to watch.
So, now that we're done with the game, I can wish the Tide best of luck the rest of this season and best of luck next season. I already look forward to hosting a few Tide friends in Athens in 2008 and I hope y'all will be treated as well here as we were in Tuscaloosa yesterday.
GO DAWGS & RTR!
