I had a great trip and a great time in Tuscaloosa this weekend. I've always enjoyed visiting the Alabama campus, regardless of the wins or losses. It's just always been a great atmosphere every time I've been and it's my favorite road trip in the SEC.

Congrats to the Bama team for fighting hard and showing a lot of guts out there on the field last night. After last weekend, it would have been easy to claim they were tired and they could have given up during numerous points in the game...but to their credit, they fought tooth and nail for the entire 60 minutes and then a few. I thought the Tide played a solid game and was really impressed with the resilience shown by your team. You guys and gals are right to be proud of them and excited for them...so don't let any of these talking heads or pencil pushers get to you with their mocking, condescending articles or comments. CNS has already made a difference since he's been there and it's evident in the way your team plays. With another season or two in his system, Alabama will be a team that you Tide fans will really enjoy following. As a matter of fact, it's not hard for me to envision a game like last night's being played a couple of years down the road inside the Georgia Dome in the month of December...and that will certainly be something to watch.

So, now that we're done with the game, I can wish the Tide best of luck the rest of this season and best of luck next season. I already look forward to hosting a few Tide friends in Athens in 2008 and I hope y'all will be treated as well here as we were in Tuscaloosa yesterday.

GO DAWGS & RTR!

Thanks for the gracious post. When Bama fought back and took it to overtime, I thought we were about to steal a win. Georgia was clearly the better team last night, and the Dawgs deserved their hard-fought victory. Sorry some of our students showed their collective .....es at the end. That's not Bama football, and it doesn't represent what most of us stand for. Congrats to UGa -- can't wait to see yall lay the wood to Tennessee and Auburn later this year!!

Thanks for the kind words, and I totally agree with everything you said. You guys have a great program, and I hope ya'll win out. The future is bright, and when all those young guys on offense ya'll have get some experience, they are going to be really good! The is defense is legit! Everything about the game was clean and hard fought, and that's all either of us can ask. I do hate the cup throwing at the end. Unfortunately, emotions get the best of people sometimes, especially when they are mostly drunken 18-22 yr olds. Make you guys beat FL, AU and half a hundred on TN - everybody else has!!

Well, I'm sure we had a few ignorant Georgia fans that made fools out of themselves over the course of the day, too...and I hope that any Bama fan that came into contact with one of these idiots realizes that they don't represent the vast majority of the Georgia fanbase or the program, either. There's always a few in every crowd.

Nice post and wish the same to the DAWGS for the rest of the year! Especially when ya'll have that 'WORLD'S LARGEST COCKTAIL PARTY'....!! We shall try to break it in for ya next week, by engulfing the 'noles!

Your 'O' line really suprised me, starting basically 3 freshmen on the road in the sec...wow! They played almost a perfect game.

As for next year I'm hoping to be there dressed in all my CRIMSON refinery!:cool2:

It's the one stadium in the SEC that I have never ever been to, and am looking forward to it!

All programs have a lunatic fringe.

Apologize in advance for any idiots you may meet on the way to Athens.

When we went to 92,000 seats - we had a couple of years where tickets were more available to the fringe crowd - but behavior is back up to par these days.

Love Tuscaloosa and the shade and the oaks. The old campuses of UA and UGA are very similar - be sure and walk through the old campus at UGA.

Post like this reflect the character a program can hope their fans have. Congratulations on a hard fought game which illustrated the talent of both teams. Last night UGA was the better team. Hopefully we can keep getting better and try to return the favor next year. Good luck the rest of the way, and lay some wood on AU!

Hats off to the dawgs, their coaches had a great gameplan and their playmakers made more plays. Have to respect a team who is 23-3 on the road under Richt (though I think that is a little skewed because they get Florida on a neutral field every year...they never play their best opponent "on the road" by definition).

Alabama didn't play well for 60 minutes, but they did play hard for 60-minutes. I think we'll beat poorly coached or less-talented teams because we seem to always play hard, but a team like UGA who plays hard, has resolve, and is far more talented will beat us more often than not. I think this game played out in Athens would have been a blow-out because Richt wouldn't have tried so hard to protect his QB at home as he did in Bryant-Denny.

Good game from the Bulldogs, they are definitely not as bad the USC game made it seem. We may not be as good as Arkansas' inept defense made us appear. Good luck, maybe we can pull off a shocker and meet up again in December.

I admit, I don't judge people before getting to know them. And that allows me to not judge groups before getting to know them either.

But after reading the forums today I must admit, it's becoming obvious that a good percentage of your supporters are not the kind of fans we want hanging around us.

Of course every group has it's own set of bad folks, but taking down the national championship flags, leaving your garbage in an RV field, cussing out Alabama fans on the way out of the stadium, celebrating like apes in our endzone and treating people the way that group does... well it spells volumes about your program and the class that you lack.

Maybe not you specifically, but a good number of you. Maybe you should post some of the things you've heard about on the Georgia forums, and try to get a change started.

An Alabama Supporter

p.s. Even if you guys took that flag back to Athens, you still would only have a 4th of the national championships we have. ROLL TIDE

It was one heck of a game, wasn't it? As much as it pains me to admit it, the better team won out on the field yesterday. That's why Coach Saban stresses, and I'm sure Coach Richt does too, that the game must be played for the entire 60 minutes. That one was, and then some. I'm sure with CNS at the helm, our program can't do anything but improve. CMR and the entire UGA program is a class act IMO, and with the exception of a few clowns, reflects positively on the SEC as a whole. I know I'm going to do my best to be in Athens in '08. Until we meet again, here's wishing you the best of luck with the rest of your season.
RTR and Go Dawgs!

Young feller, calm down...

I agree with you. I don't know what one Georgia fan can do, but the stories are beginning to get on my nerves and after hearing them more than once from several different program's fans, I'm beginning to think that we can't just chalk it up to a few idiots here and there.

So....

I'll post this on every Georgia forum I have access to.

I'm not sure I can do this officially, but for what it's worth, on behalf of the University of Georgia and the good, decent fans of the University of Georgia, I apologize for any bad experiences any of you may have had with Georgia fans yesterday or at any time this past weekend.
