"Because 30-plus years ago when I went to Alabama, coach Bryant talked about being a champion," said Castille of his reason behind the theme. "I didn't know how, (but) I wanted to be one. I learned from coach Bryant that to be a champion, you have to learn from somebody. Really, if you listen to coach (Nick) Saban and what he's been saying and what it's all about for them, it's about being a champion in every area of their life, not just in football, but off the field, in academics and how they carry themselves. I'm really just echoing what coach Saban is saying."
