Guillon breaks silence on his quitting team

All outward indications have been that he's been a cancer since he joined the team.

If you can't see that the kid is an absolute baby, then you haven't been paying attention.

There is nothing audacious or bold about firing shots at anyone after you have already quit. There are no reprocussions from the coaching staff towards him so what's so bold about it? Where's the risk?

nice allusion - gaggles of rabid frothing dog-men carrying torches and bricks to enforce the gag-rule on ex-players. Whose in? J/K

It's bad to lose a QB in the middle of the season, but in his defense, he came to Alabama to start when it looked like he had a great opportunity. Whether it was injuries, cockiness, or just lack of good play, he didn't pan out. It wasn't a good fit and it's unfortunate he couldn't have stayed the rest of the year. But it is possible that after the Duke game, which in his mind he felt he probably should have spent more than a quarter or so on the field, he just couldn't take being the signal caller from the bench anymore. Let him be.

Uhhhh?
You quoted me but saying I can’t see that he is a baby doesn’t make any sense since my post basically stated that he has been hammered here since he joined the team when the stated policy is no harsh criticism of players.
Cry baby or not my point is that when he played hurt everyone thought he was faking and grilled him.
He was never that good but he still didn’t deserve to get hammered.

I don't completely follow, but in any event, I probably shouldn't have quoted you since I wasn't intending to take you to task for your post. When I wrote "if you can't see..." I meant the universal "you." I'll edit.

Does anyone know if Guillon has broken his silence on the question of who was the superior rapper: Snow or Vanilla Ice?

I think quite a few of you would be surprised at who would win a team popularity contest between Marc Guillon and other recent quarterbacks.

But, what am I saying? How dare I say something that doesn't conform to the distorted perception of those would build a monument to a quarterback who never beat Aubarn or won a championship.

Guillon ? ....... Guillon ? Hmmmmm ........ Guillon ?:conf3:

Oh , wait a minute . Isn't he that QB guy that was once at Alabama . You know , the one that walked out on his team by quitting in the middle of his senior season . Yeah , that's the ticket . I remember him now . What a loser !

MEMO to M.G. :mad2: : That's just a glimpse of your future .

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:BigA:

What a loser. Great "backup" though. Always acted like he could play when the starter was in. Once he's thrust into action, screws up and then acts hurt. On top of things has his mom call a radio station and dog CMS. Like he always said, "I've never been anything but a quitter!"

Good riddance!

How can the second-string QB suddenly do something like this?

Look how he had to stand in last year suddenly!!!

I just think he wanted to hurt Coach Shula the best way he could and by quitting the team was the best way he saw fit to do it!!

I canNOT say I am a fan of MG's, I just hope his departure does NOT adversely affect the team.....

Now, what happens if John Parker gets injured......darn-it-all?????:mad2:

I thought that any unfair or harsh criticism of any players or coaches was not allowed? The mods always say "remember that players read these boards".Guillion has gotten hammered on this board way before he quit the team.
Now I guess since he is no longer a member of the team any thing goes.
I read his statement and it wasn’t even close to insulting Coach Shula.
"Numerous false impressions the coaches gave me."
Big whoop.
Maybe the coaches led him to believe he would get more playing time or maybe they didn’t.
Heck he may have thought that because he was the #2QB that it automatically entitled him to a certain number of snaps in practice.
We will never know.
Personally I think that He was demoted to 3rd behind Barnes so that Barnes could get more snaps in practice and improve for next year.
While, if this happened and that is what made him quit, this is a move that would help the team in the long run I think that he should have remained #2.
I don’t know if this is what happened but it makes him quitting more understandable.

If that were the case, the thread would have been locked a long time ago...

Personally, after weighing this for 4 days and beginning the 5th...if it were a "real life situation" and he was my employee he would have a pink slip...and that's was due to graciousness.

How about gaggles of obsessive, crazy, athlete-worshiping, loyal to a fault fans knowing where he lives for starters.

Are you his agent or something? Gee whiz, he quit the team. In the middle of the season. With no experienced backup behind him. But. Do you REALLY think enough people are angry that he's gone, instead of saying good riddance, that he would actually feel concerned for his safety? I doubt any "athlete-worshiping, loyal to a fault fans" have ever been that loyal to Marc Guillon. It won't be long till no one even remembers his name. The only mark he made on Alabama football was quitting on his teamates and then showing his immaturity, as opposed to audacity, by taking a parting shot at the coaching staff.

All this guy had to do was ride out 6-7 more games. Having played football at Alabama on your resume would do wonders for you job search. Now that he has quit on not1, but 2 football teams why would you hire this person? If he does not get his way he will walk on on your company as well. just a thought.

Now, can you REALLY imagine CMS or CDR or anyone else on that coaching staff saying to MG, coming out of Fall practice, "Hey, Marc, you're our number 2 guy, but no matter what, and no matter the score, we're gonna DEFINITELY work you into playing time, we promise!!"...no...I just don't see it. Now, maybe something like "Hey, Marc, you're our #2 guy, and we SURE wanna get you some playing time IF THE SITUATIONS ALLOW. Or, if JPW doesn't perform, or gets hurt, then boy, you are GUARANTEED some PT" was said. That'd make a WHOLE lot more sense, and maybe it got miscommunicated or even miscontrued, but there's just NO motivation for the coaches to outright lie, nor would they, especially about playing time. Coaches aren't STUPID, no matter what some of you might think, particularly one who was a player so recently and remembers what it's like to be a QB at UA...so, there's no way to defend MG on this one. At all...His legacy will be that of a quitter.
