This is probably true. Everyone is on the Mendoza bandwagon right now but remember, Indiana had an 11-1 regular season last year and made it to the playoff with Kurtis Rourke at QB, so maybe people shouldn't be giving the QB too much credit for Indiana's success. Mendoza's stats are about the same as Rourke's were who finished 9th in the voting a year ago. Cignetti has turned Indiana into a contender through his coaching ability and not so much because of the QB. In the case of Vandy they were nothing before Pavia and they may turn into nothing again after he leaves. The integrity of the Heisman has suffered with some of the winners lately...seems to be a media popularity award...if it truly is the most impactful player for a team then its Pavia by a mile...plus Pavia in the Nissan Heisman commercials would be great spectating. The stats for Mendoza/Sayin are pretty average...Love is a great back but against really poor teams...not so much in their first 2 games....but I suspect the media darling Mendoza gets it....
Scam, Manziel, and Rapist WinstonI think they literally took that out after $cam
Pavia had a very bad October.Does anyone else think Pavia would be the front-runner if Vandy had won on October 4? Major thanks to Justin Jefferson and Keon Sabb for the turnovers they forced!
Pavia had a very bad October.
I am laughing and crying.Pavia would fit right in on the Atlanta Braves.
People are whining about Notre Dame not making it in over Bama, but Vandy should also have made it in the playoffs. They are the ones who should be whining. I think Pavia got way too cocky for a while this year, but the guy absolutely maximizes his ability and leaves everything he has out on the field.Pavia was more integral to Vanderbilt's season than any of the other candidates. Fer cryin' out loud, he took Vanderbilt to the brink of the playoffs! Vanderbilt!! Pavia should win the Heisman, but Mendoza probably wins it. That wouldn't be a miscarriage of justice. Indiana has been irrelevant for decades in football until NIL and Mendoza arrived.
I quit watching pageants after going to a local Junior Miss pageant a billion years ago. My boyfriend's sister was in it. We sat there horrified at what they had those teenage girls doing. Nothing bad, just stupid and embarrassing. All dressed in formal gowns but holding gigantic beach balls and posing, skipping and jumping around in ridiculous positions. It had to be an effort to see how well the girls could carry off such a thing without looking obviously humiliated. His sister's talent was sewing and designing clothes. We knew she was extremely talented but they provided her no real way to show this talent so her demonstration of it was not impressive. Boyfriend sat slumped down saying, "Honestly, I love my little sister and whatever she wants, I want for her. If she wins and moves on to a higher level pageant, I don't know if I can sit there and watch this kind of thing again.", and, boy did I agree. It changed the way I felt about that kind of stuff. So does anyone still watch the Miss America Padgett? Seems to me this farce will go away as soon as we stop tuning in and discussing it.
the only time i have watched any of the heisman stuff was the for our 3 winners.Quit watching the Heisman presentation at least 30+ years ago. The Heisman means nothing anymore, kind of like the postseason bowls.
He may be a bit over the top but I think, if they still looked for good, upstanding character, he would fit the bill. Pavia's behavior is obnoxious.Hard not to pull for Fernando.......this is what college football should be all about!
