Yeah anybody who knows me here knows that I am an avid Alabama fan. Heck, it's not hard for any of them to guess when I'm sporting a hat with a script A on the front and "Crimson Tide" across the back, even if they are barners. I wish I had some nice stories to tell, but most of the Auburn fans I associate with here are generally nice people with a decent grasp on football. Afterthe Iron Bowl they have kept their mouths shut for the most part. It really made for fun discussions when they would tell me Bama was going to lose to Clemson, Georgia, LSU,...(insert team) only to show up the monday after and listen to their explaination of how Bama had the game handed to them on a silver platter. My favorite quote came right before the Iron Bowl. "After looking at Alabama and Auburn's records this season, I think they are about even."
I honestly didn't know how to respond. When somebody says something that stupid there really isn't much you can do other than shake your head and laugh it off.
While it's never "great" to be a fan attending the rival institution, I must say that last season was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've ever had around 20,000+ Auburn folks. Bama's success combined with Auburn's melt-down made for an amazing experience here on the plains. While I didn't get to experience the Iron Bowl, I was able to see the barn lose in person quite a few times last season and it never got old. I need to purchase a t-shirt with the Iron Bowl score on it so they can relive that glorious moment everytime they see me walking around. Sure I might not make any friends that way, but I think I could live with that. :BigA:
