Helmets Always a Good Idea

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

One of my work colleagues is a motorcycle guy. Over the weekend he crashed in Daytona. Not sure of all the details except that no other vehicle was involved. The best guess at the moment is that he took an off ramp too fast and ended up taking a tumble after overcorrecting. He broke nine ribs and his back in two places and suffered a commensurate amount of road rash. Fortunately, no spine of head injuries. And considering he does not wear a helmet, that is very fortunate.

I always wear one when riding my motorcycles. I even have a Go-Pro bracket on one of my helmets!

For our Tidefans friends who ride bicycles.
Especially if you are going to raid England.
i've always been amazed at how few european casual riders don't wear helmets. also, i rarely see people with them on the lime bikes and scooters.

i always wear one, even on my electric kick scooter

thankfully, i've never found out the hard way on a bike, but have a couple of friends that are here today due to helmets.
Same here. Years ago a buddy was young and dumb. He laid his bike down going 90 mph up Mt.Cheaha.
He was the picture of young and dumb. Lucky to be alive.

Visited Matt yesterday. Bought he and his wife some lunch and saw him for the first time since the crash. In addition to his back and ribs, he also cracked his right foot and hip. But, he was moving around better than I expected. He'll have a back brace for months, and he uses a walker as needed. Still very lucky all things considered.

And of course, I busted him a bit by asking if he realizes that we are on furlough. He didn't have to injure himself to get out of working. Like the rest of us, he can just come into the office and not work. I also asked him if this incident was satisfying his overwhelming need for attention.

I originally thought Matt's wife, Tina, was riding with him that day, but it turns out Matt was on a solo ride. And apparently, whoever was first on the scene did not render aid and preferred to loot instead. Matt's wallet and jacket were in one of the saddle bags, and they were stolen. The jacket was nothing special, and Tina replaced it via Poshmark for $20. The credit cards couldn't be fraudulently used, but the debit card was charged over $400 on assorted crap. Some people will jeopardize their sole extremely cheaply.:rolleyes:
