Help: First time to Bryant Denny in 13 years

**What are the *tricks* you guys use?**

Coming from B'ham, what's the best way to navigate pre and post-game traffic?

I haven't been to a home game at Bryant-Denny since the DuBose days, and back then I didn't have to worry about traffic since I stayed there in T-town.

I'm considering parking out near the Nursing School building and using Cottondale's exits 77 or 79 to go to and fro, but I'm unsure as to how thick the traffic will be on University in that area.

I could follow the interstate and McFarland all day long, but I'm wanting to know what you regulars do to AVOID the traffic. (I've seen enough to know that McFarland WILL BE the traffic.)

Back roads? Street names? I never learned those tricks back then.

Thanks in advance.

I just leave really early. Tomorrow we will leave about 8:30 and have a two hour drive. We are coming from Hartselle so we take the Interstate all of the way to McFarland. Coming back we like to go through Cottondale and come out by the Mercedez plant.

Thanks. So the Cottondale way isn't too thick with traffic then? Like I said, I'll likely go that route; not many other options.

Nope, it's your best bet. I mean there will be traffic, but for the Arkansas game it moved almost the entire time. I was amazed since no one left until the end.

Leaving EARLY is key, however it depends on if you have a place to sit it out till game time. I like to be there 5 hours before game time. I get off at the 1st exit Cottondale/ Coaling exit. go straight thru. I have a good place to park, but I have a friend with an RV right there. The parking place is just 3 blocks fromt the stadium, but as others have said a bit expensive. Its off of 15th on 10th ave. by Bamaland. Great place because its striped parking.(stores and Little Ceasers are there). Easy in and straight shot out. Good Luck and Roll Tide
