back in the 1970's when the "NFL Today" on
CBS still had Phyllis George, Irv Cross. Brent Musburger and Jimmy "The Greek"????
Do you remember the piece that they did on Walter Payton? It was kind of a montage of his runs set to music, the song was by Carli Simon and titled "Nobody Does It Better".
That was an awesome piece and one that has stuck with me for 22 years since I was a teenage kid. Every time I hear that song now I'm taken back in time and I can still see "Sweetness" running and breaking those tackles, WHEW !!!!! memories sure are sweet.
Anyway figured I would share a Bear memory with you on Christmas day. Merry Christmas !

There are two teams in college football, Alabama and all the teams that wish they were Alabama !!!!!

I remember it!!!!

Also, I guess another weird one is when Bama won the N.C. against Arkansas and after the game was over they put together a few pics from the year and others from the game to the tune "We are the Champions!"

I stood in front of my T.V. and cried like a baby!
Truly, songs can bring things back to your memory!

True so true, music is the book mark of our lives in a lot of ways.

I'm afraid I don't remember either one. Sorry. I did have the pleasure of watching Walter Payton all my life and he trully was one of the greats. RIP Walter.

He was great wasn't he.

I don't believe I have ever seen a RB that ran through the line, cut back, switched hands, etc.... with such fluid motion.
He looked as if he was doing a ballet instead of running between 350 lbs. apes!

The thing that always surprised me no matter how many times I saw it was when people got their hands on him he showed he had more strength than I thought he did.

With someone that moves so smoothly you just didn't realize he was strong also.

I miss Sweetness!
