Hope the Media Doesn't Overlook This (positive drug test)

I hope the media does not completely look over this. However, I bet Raji will be treated much more favorably than Andre even though he failed a drug test and was ineligible for an entire season in college. By the way, I saw Andre in Atlanta last Friday. He did not look out of shape and was very nice when I spoke to him.

These things are all relative. Andre played for Alabama and Coach Nick Saban. B.J. Raji played for Boston College, who is overlooked in their own city by the Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins. Andre also won the Outland Trophy and has been percieved as a first round draft pick since he signed a letter of intent in 2006 to play for Alabama. The media loves to hammer on the percieved superstar.

I realize ESPN has reported the incident, but I think it will be interesting to see what the follow up is. McShay and Kiper bashed Andre for two or three weeks. Numerous other media outlets got in on it as well. I admit some of it was deserved, but did you read the YahooSports article about Andre and the message board following the article? It was ridiculous. I just think there is a problem when someone, Andre, makes a dumb football decision and is blasted, when other guys, Raji, are failing drug tests and not making their grades. I believe McShay has Raji listed as his #5 prospect, so he is not an unknown player.

It won't matter that much. The pundits are saying instead of top 5, he will go second 5.

Also out there that P. Harvin failed a test as well.
