ReederTAMU,
We lose Hearod, Reed, Garner, Hecklinski, Redding, and Marshall to graduation. Pavkovich may leave if drafted high enough, but otherwise, the entire infield returns. We'll have a deep pitching staff, but will be in need of a replacement for Reed as the stopper, and there are some viable options for the job.
Pitching will be strong in '04, but the offense will be in search of a new leadoff man and we'll also be losing our most dangerous power hitter. Defensively, the infield should be improved with experience, but 2/3 of the outfield will have to be replaced, including centerfield.
If the draft doesn't do too much damage, we'll be in great shape, but even if we happen to lose a couple to the professional ranks, I'm still optimistic.
I'll go into much greater detail about this in a lengthier post here soon.
