How do you post a gif?

I have downloaded and posted gifs as an image, but they don't antimate. I think I've seen them posted. How do you do it? Thanks!

i just insert them as an image and they work

I've never been able to do it on iPhone in mobile Safari. But if you have TapaTalk VIP+, there's a giphy option.

I downloaded gif and posted with the insert image icon and no bueno. tried to post the url via the insert image icon and it said it was too large. The gif antimates when i open on my pc.
