How does ESPN 360 work?

Is that an online real time broadcast of the game? It looks as though that's the only way hope for seeing the game here in the Charlotte region.
 
It is real-time... If you have certain internet ISPs (I know for sure ATT/Uverse) you can get it for free. With good bandwidth it's almost as good as watching on real TV.

I may be doing the same thing here this week.

I just don't understand why the Charlotte affiliate that carries the SEC network would telecast Arkansas-Miss State instead of an Alabama game. I would think that Alabama viewers would outnumber either of the other SEC schools by 10-1.
 
ESPN 360 is awesome!! Especially if you have a laptop.
Watch tons of games and change channels with a click.

It's on the local TV here in Hotlanta, though.
 
Earlier this year for our game against Fla. Int'l or N.TX (I don't recall which), there was a link on Tidefans that allowed folks to tap into a live feed of the game. I dunno how it was done or who made it happen, but it worked well and I greatly appreciated it. At game time, check the Tidefans game-related threads to see if a similar link appears.

Assuming someone can post a link to a live feed for today's game, maybe that person will give it a separate thread labeled as such, so folks unable to otherwise watch the game can quickly find the link.

The price is reasonable but reading their privacy statement, they say they do not tap into pay-per events, only freely available events - so if the game cannot be found on Yahoo or someone similar, I suspect they will not have it. I'll go with ESPN Game Tracker (AND TIDEFANS PLAY BY PLAY!!!) today.

It was Channelsurfing.net but the Bama game is not on it today.
 
Luckily its on my local CBS channel here in the Dothan area. Someone mentioned that Justintv site. I have seen a few UFC matches on it. It works pretty well. Sometimes you have to go thru a few dfferent video feeds of the game to find a clear one though.

I am not sure if its .net, .com, .tv or what but you will know cause there will be different feeds of everything from PPV to sporting events to movies. Its worth a shot to those of you without a local broadcast.

If an Alabama football game is being broadcast on the internet live, and the site does not say ESPN360, then it is piracy I hate to say.

Someone with ESPN 360 and a little knowledge and some software can illegally re stream the games on their website. The quality is lower, for bandwidth issues, and there is a slight delay getting the signal from ESPN through their server, but all the games are there to watch. This is especially troublesome for Alabama when the game is Pay per View Only. If you are not paying for 360, which money goes back to Bama, or paying for pay per-view, and instead are watching the game on an illegal re-stream, Bama gets nothing.

Do I feel sorry for them? Not really. The rule of thumb is that if you don't want something of value that is composed of o's and 1's to be compromised, don't put it on the net. It will be compromised.

All of Alabama's pay per view and 360 only games can be watched for free via the internet through several websites that are probably coming form hosting overseas, and using false names for the domain information.

Why they aren't shut down, I don't know, but many people with little expendable cash but have broadband internet are going to opt to watch the game for free on the computer rather than pay $40 to watch the same thing on the television.

Bama has only had one pay per view/ESPN 360 only game this year, so it has not been much of an issue. But other team are not broadcast as much and they are losing lots of money through lack of pay perview sales.

This is the same as buying a CD or downloading it for free really.

Just a small commentary.
