I have always said it like it was spelled Tagovailoa, as in “Tag”. Like the game of tag kids play.

I hear plenty of radio and TV personalities saying “Tug”ovailoa (like tug boat)or, even worse, some sound like they say “Tung”ovailoa.

So, which is correct? Is this another case of us southerns butchering another “foreign” name?

TT like Twin Turbo, guy is fast and good. I had a Nissan 300 ZX Twin Turbo, Tua is a lot like that car, sleak and fast. Just smooth and very deadly to most others in its class. hehe The guy is the epitome of a HOT ROD. So fast it scares you and looks good doing it.

Well, you learn something everyday. I don’t ever remember seeing that video before. I never would have guess “tongue” was correct because there is no “n” but, I also got bad grades in grammar.

Shoot, I would still get bad grades in grammar because I completely fail at helping my kids with their grammar homework.

Here in Pennsylvania sports reporters rarely show Alabama highlights so it was a bit funny hearing them try to pronounce Tua's name when they finally showed Bama-LSU highlights. Tua is probably the most talked about college football player this season so I couldn't believe it when they weren't even close to getting it right. They mustn't know anything going on in college football outside of Penn State world.

Pretty provincial. I had a BIL from PA. You want to see provincial, go to NYC, where I used to live. As far as they're concerned, nothing much happens outside the Boroughs and overseas... :)

It really bothers me when guys that call the games mess it up. i've heard Vai-ola from like 3 color guys this year. Just sit down and practice it for like 3 minutes man? its not hard?

I read that Mike Francesa got mad at a caller to his show when he was asked to name 3 players for Alabama other than Tua. He had no clue, got exposed, so got mad and hung up on the caller.
