Question: How much longer will Freeze be the head coach at Aubarn?

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

Captain has now officially left the team and multiple teammates have openly supported him after Freeze stated that he didn't meet the "standards" of the program. AD has made remarks that look as if CHF has one foot in and one foot out the door.

How much longer will he be the head coach and if and when they make a move, who will Aubarn go after?

Sidenote: I could give two flying flips about Aubarn, but it is fun to discuss the pile of horse manure show that is going on over in Georgia.

Based on limited info out there about wanting to preserve his last year of eligibility, the kid is in the right.

It would make sense to run him off this month as the players would have 30 days to use the portal. (Anyone getting any playing time right now would likely not transfer out.) JMO

But then again, the buyout goes down if they wait until seasons end. The mass exodus of players might free up some NIL money to put against the buyout.

The PTB is going to have to crunch some numbers.

Durkin would be the obvious choice for Interim. 😎

I think they fire him at the end of the season, unless he pulls out a win against us. Then he stays until he loses to us again.
That would make more sense but it seems as if he has lost the team. When players are openly backing a member of the team who is leaving it is going to be hard to save face if you are Cohen (AD) and give him more time. I learned a long time ago, administrative folks are all about saving their own hind end and Cohen probably realizes that the longer he ties himself to Freeze the higher the probability that his days are numbered as well. Obviously if they start to win games things could change, but I just don't see Freeze getting through this year if they continue to drop games.

Another loss or two and I think he’s done. It was someone who posted here some time back saying they had talked to a friend of Freeze (or something of the sort) saying he indicated he should have never left Liberty. So if true, he likely doesn’t care. I do think they will consider dumping him at a time that player movement is affected. We see what they did with basketball. Swapped coaches in a manner that all players are trapped scholastically and can’t move.

That’s a fair point. I will say that I am partly basing my guess off the obviously no longer solid assumption that most coaches don’t get fired mid season unless something morally inappropriate happened.

If they lose to Mizzooo on Saturday, wouldn't be surprised if they bite the early bullet on Sunday. I have been pretty surprised at the early Coaching Search announcements we have already seen at this point.

Napier must know where a body is buried to still be holding on this long into the season too.

True and we all know that Freeze would never do anything inappropriate...

Napier is a 2nd half coach. It takes him a few months to get his guys rolling. Florida is just being patient so they start rolling come bowl season and they can dominate the NAPA Auto Bowl Game against East Carolina.

Fill me in because I've been travelling a few days, but who is "Captain?"

Morally inappropriate deeds are résumé enhancers at the barn — they get you hired, not fired.
