Careful...you're talking about one of our own:Throwing against the saints horrible secondary may make Brodie look fantastic.
At this point, if they are going to pull the trigger on Brodie being the starter, it's better to do it sooner than later IMO.Sometimes getting thrown into the mix too soon can do more damage than good.
i didn't know Harper was back. is he? I will clarify other than Harper the Saint secondary is horrible.Careful...you're talking about one of our own:

Harper has been held out of pre-season to date, but is supposed to be about 95% healthy
No problem. We can just blame it on CMS.Yeah Brodie will be fine. Combine his desire to constantly throw off his back foot with a patchwork offensive line, and he'll be lighting up NFL secondaries. I'm sure any of his failures won't be his fault in the eyes of Alabama fans. He'll continue to do no wrong...
I am 100% certian Shula will be blamed for many things as the season rolls along. I am suprised the recent arrests were not blamed on Shula. Lord knows if he was the coach people would be saying the team is out of control and CMS has no discipline & the players do not respect him.No problem. We can just blame it on CMS.

Shula keeping his mouth shut - haven't heard a single negative comment from him losing his job tells me a lot about his character & love for the UofA.
I agree that Brodie will have to grow into the position, but Peyton did also. In Peyton's rookie season he passed for 26 TDs (NFL Rookie record), but he also threw 28 INTs. If I'm not mistaken, Peyton almost broke the record for most INTs thrown in a single game his rookie season. But Peyton consistently improved from year to year and now he is one of the elite QBs in the NFL. I just wanted to point some of this stuff out and extend on moorav's comment that Brodie will have to grow into the position. I don't know if it is better for KC to go ahead and give Brodie the starting position to let him figure things out like Peyton did, or if they should maybe let him learn the position for another year and do like Cincinnati did with Carson Palmer. Either way, if Brodie can stay healthy I expect him to do well in the NFL.defintely will have some bad games this year but will also have some good games. He'll grow into the position - not every QB is Peyton
He was a 3rd round NFL draft choice and is now competing for a starting job after only 15 months in the league. The only reason he fell to the 3rd round was his shoulder & knee injuries while at Bama.Yeah Brodie will be fine. I was predicting his likely NFL performance by mentioning one of the biggest flaws that has been present in his game since high school...poor foot technique. Like I said, I'm sure any NFL failures will be blamed on someone other than Brodie. Just like his poor performances in college and even his NFL draft...as you suggested. He was a 3rd round NFL draft choice and is now competing for a starting job after only 15 months in the league. The only reason he fell to the 3rd round was his shoulder & knee injuries while at Bama.
I'm not saying BC is headed for the hall of fame, but you certainly can't judge his chances by his first year as a starter much less a couple of pre-season games.

I really don't want this thread to become a lets throw Shula under the bus kind of thing, but unless you just decided to not read what the mods said after and leading up to the firing of Shula you wouldn't be saying those things. Saban is having to reteach a lot more than just football.I am 100% certian Shula will be blamed for many things as the season rolls along. I am suprised the recent arrests were not blamed on Shula.
