Hurricane

CRUD!
I'm sitting here in Gainesville watching this newest hurricane rear it's teeth at us. And now it looks like I may miss the first game. Anyone else looking at the possibility of staying near home this weekend?

I know some of you from the Orlando area really got hammered two weeks ago - while we in Gainesville got seriously lucky by just missing the tail of the storm. We're thinking the luck ends this weekend.

Let's all hope and pray this thing tails away from the U.S.

A couple of cold fronts are coming down, maybe that will help. Pensacola sure dodged a bullet because of a cold front. We're not out of the woods yet either.

We've Got tickets for the Utah State game. Hopefully for everyone in the states this will weaken or move out in the Atlantic.

Hurrican Francis

Well it looks like Central Fl could be target of another Hurricane this weekend possibly. Hurricane Francis as of this morning has now strengthend back into a cat 4 hurricane. All the weather men here have its projected path comming in at north Indian River County (where my father lives)/ south Brevard County. If this is the case....where I live in Sanford, FL. (about 15min north of Orlando) seems to be right in its path. My wife has since made reservations at one of the few "pet friendly" hotels we could find, that just so happens to be in B'ham. It is called Towne Place Suites in Birmingham/Homewood. Is anyone familiar w/ this hotel and second is the area it's in a decent one? LOL one thing I did ask my wife to ask the lady taking the reservations is to see if they are going to be showing the game. I mean I would love to get tickets to the game, but I am not sure how hard they would be to find them. Also I am not sure how long of a drive it is from Orlando to B'ham, maybe some of you have made this trip recently that could tell me. I pray to God that Francis decides it doesn't like the way FL looks and just wants to break up. That is all we need is more devistation here after Charley ripped through 3 weeks ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tide fans are the best!!!

The last time I made the trip from Orlando to Birmingham it took nine hours. (10 of driving/potty breaks minus 1 hour for the time change) If I'm thinking of the same hotel you mentioned it is a nice area with several restaurants, stores, etc.) I have never stayed there but some relatives of mine did when I got married and they enjoyed it. You can probably get tickets either through the ticket office or outside the stadium before the game. God Bless and drive safely!
