If LSU wins, it will be the undisputed national champion, a mantle for which, judging by this week's attitudes, the Tigers have already had themselves fitted.
Cecil sets it pretty straight on the Tigers' (sans Les Miles) attitude heading into the game. If he's accurate - and he's usually pretty astute with these things - it should be an interesting attitude adjustment for them, considering they were LUCKY to escape with a win in November.

I hope every poster on here reads this article, takes it to heart and on Tuesday morning, win or lose, will post without bashing players, coaches, (on both teams), officials and the media. Here is what you can expect:

1. If we win, then the NC should be split (unless we win by 14+ points) since LSU won the first game in Tuscaloosa.
2. If we lose, then everyone will say that we didn't deserve to be in the game to start with since Oklahoma State was undefeated and was more deserving to be in the NC game.
3. Expect the media to continue to talk about the adversity LSU has had to overcome this year to even get to the NC game.
4. Tyran Mathieu will be the game's MVP whether LSU wins or loses.
5. Expect the media, regardless of the outcome, to praise Les Miles for being a "players coach" for his disciplinary style, while on the other hand CNS will be portrayed as a cold blooded, ruthless hired gun.

Read this and memorized this and if you do then you will hopefully be in control of your emotions on Tuesday morning, win or lose.

Agree with thread title....I'm ready for the kickoff.
If Bama plays poorly, there will be much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth...it's what fans do on forums like this.
If Bama plays well and wins, huzzahs will be heard far and wide.
If Bama plays well and loses, same as the first but less so, with much more rationalizing of why Bama lost.
It's all about what Bama does. Period.

Hopefully, the chip on our team's collective shoulder is at least as large as the one on Cecil's shoulder.

Courtney Upshaw, one of Alabama's more direct talkers, finally answered it this way.

"People vote on who goes to the game," he said. "They voted us into the game. That's all that matters."

I have an aside to add to this discussion. It has little to do with the topic of discussion itself, but I think it does pertain to the way the discussion has been raised.
When any member of the media asks "What do you say to "those who say" this", or tell you that "your critics say"that. In reality, there are very few people who are actually saying or asking those things. It's really the media themselves who are either asking the questions or voicing their own opinions.
I wish for once we could have a little honesty in the media, whether it's sports, politics, or whatever. Just a little, OK?

As usual, Mr. Hurt is spot on. It won't matter to many of the dedicated 'Bama detractors in the media what happens in the game. We'll be damned if we win for "not deserving to be there" and damned for the same thing if we win.

None of that will matter though. If those guys pull this off, the haters can come visit the hardware at the Alabama Football Complex in Tuscaloosa.

We got folks here who worry too much. No matter what there's excuses.

We don't deserve to claim 1964 because we lost to Texas.

We don't deserve 1965 because it was a fluke and we had 2 blemishes.

We don't deserve 1973 because we lost to Notre Dame.

We don't deserve 1978 because we lost to USC head-to-head.

We shouldn't have been in the 1992 game because Florida State was "better."

We only won in 2009 because McCoy got hurt.

Let the critics keep count of their excuses; I'll keep count of crystal footballs. Speaking of which, you can only keep 7 on one shelf. Better build another after Monday night- for next January.

I like our chances, especially after hearing the interviews by the Team on Friday. They have a clear focus & mission got their heads & heart in the right place. This may just be one of the Best teams Alabama has played with the exception of the 71 Nebraska team who was clearly better than the Tide.

LSU is a Great team but I do not think they are Better than The Tide.

If our offense does what we know they can do, although as tough as it will be against the LSU D, then I feel The Tide will leave no doubt just like they did in 1992 & 2009!

ROLL TIDE all you GREAT FANS!

This game is going to be a war. I'm very hesitant to compare this to the Miami game because this LSU season looks A LOT like our 2009 season in which everything that had to go their way did. There's a lot to the saying "a team has to have a lot of luck to win a national championship". It doesn't take away the element of the teamed "earned it" or not but there's a lot of moments that go into a championship season that a play, or bounce of a ball could have EASILY gone the other way and changed the entire course of the season.

These two teams can claim that "destiny" is on their side. LSU has had things go their way that normally hasn't. Again, we've yet to see "that game" that LSU tends to have every year in which they look like a total train wreck. Miles has yet to make that boneheaded call that we've come accustom to him doing at least one time per year that leaves EVERYBODY scratching their heads (including their own fans). That hasn't happened. He coached a flawless season in my opinion.

Bama on the other hand has just as much evidence. What's the likelihood of all the things that had to happen for us to get to New Orleans (which WAS A LOT) actually fall into place perfect?

"Destiny" can be argued from both sides. As for my "feel" for this game I honestly do not have one, one way or the other. I've got a lukewarm type feeling. All the criticism our team is getting definitely makes me believe that could EASILY be the element that puts us over the top in this game.

But then I look at the LSU side and just how it seems everything on their end has worked out perfectly it moves back to their side ultimately coming to the point I'm at. I don't know who's gonna win this game but I dang sure hope it's US!!!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!

I agree with your feelings heading into tomorrow night's game. But...I'm not sure that LSU has had everything go their way...they are having to play us, which is obviously the last opponent they wanted to have to play. If everything had gone their way, they'd be playing OSU instead.

I think it's gonna be a war. I don't know who will win but it will be self evident for anyone without blinders on who the best two teams in the country are. Let everyone else say what they want to but we all know that the BCS actually got it right.
