I see you (Auburn) hiding in the weeds. Thoughts on Iron Bowl 2023

AU will come out with a ton of emotion with the home crowd feeding them more.

Withstand the first 6-8 minutes of it, don't let them get a lead and get up 10-14 points and they'll fold.
Endure the "$hi#storm", as Saban once put it.

If Bama doesn't then they can probably kiss the SEC Championship goodbye.

They spent the first part of the season playing with their food, Bama cannot afford to look mortal from here out.
Agree completely; we have to show emphatically that we belong in the CFP if we beat Georgia.

I think we are going to beat them like a drum!
I know that Bama was the better team by far than last year but Auburn made a game of it. I agree with others that they will play with a lot of emotion but I see Bama as a far more effective team this year on both sides of the ball. Similar to the Kentucky game I see Bama having the ability to quite the crowd fairly quickly. I don't know if there is a team out there that is going to handle Bama. Who would be favored head to head?

Georgia...line already out on SECCG

3.5 favorite.

But, as I've watched Georgia several times this year and watched Bama improve I feel pretty good about this matchup.

auburn had a secret weapon last year; it was called Golding!

I know it's part of our schedule for years esp. under Coach Saban, but I really dislike playing auburn and getting their best shot unless they are a crappie team then a quick turned around and face usually a good SEC East opponent in the SECCG. But the Bama teams of the past have done it over and over again in order to achieve their goals. this season is no different.

I think Auburn’s win over Arkansas wasn’t just about Auburn playing better but also about Arkansas giving up.
the overtime win at Florida was an outlier for the hogs because prior to that game they lost at home to lowly Miss St, 7-3!!! losing to the barn shouldn't come as a shock but scoring only 13 total points in both home games is just unbelievable with an offense led by KJ Jefferson.

No doubt that auburn has improved over the past month, albeit against some really crappy SEC teams. The circumstances of playing in JH has been beaten to death on here, but any road trip in the SEC is dangerous. I believe we win, but think they will take the game into the 4th quarter. Sleeze will pull out all the stops.

Hasn’t their schedule also gotten easier the past few games which coincides with their resurgence?

It looks like the combined record of their last 3 wins, (Miss St, Vandy, Arky), is 9-22. Yes, Auburn is playing better, but their opponents are just plain bad. I think Arky had already thrown in the towel when they played last week. Regardless, when BAMA comes to town, mystical things seem to happen. We definitely need to be ready to play, because the Barn sure will be. If we're ready, we should handle our business and head to Atlanta 11-1.

I look at Arkansas and I see a team that gave up the fight a few games ago, and they are just trying to get to the end of the line. I thought they had enough talent to step up and play hard, but you have to want to..

Haven't watched Auburn much other than the UGA game (on mute). Are they still using both QB's for each game? Ashford is a decent runner. Not sure about Thorne.

Hopefully we will be healthy and have all starters back for Auburn. I wonder how much the team has practiced for Auburn this week. I'm sure the analysts have already done lots of work though. When Saban says in his pressers at the bye week that they do some practice for future opponents, I wonder if that meant just Kentucky and Chattanooga or if it included Auburn... and how much do they do for those teams? I'm sure it was complicated enough practicing for LSU. RTR

We finally settled on a single QB (Thorne) and things have kind of tightened up offensively in turn. Turns out not switching QBs between 2nd down and 3rd and short works wonders for consistency

As far as running Thorne is a deceptively good runner and perfectly capable of running the entire offense.

Throwing wise he has a decent enough arm to adequately air it out, but he’s also good for one or two absolutely bone-headed throws per game.

Where we’re gonna find trouble is that our receivers are just flat freaking awful at creating seperation, catching the ball, running routes… you know what? Our receiving corps is just straight bad and there’s no better way to put it.
