hate it for the players.

the Marshall hit did not look bad when it happened. it looked harmless. could it be possible he tore it before he was tackled?

Man that is really bad news. They may not have enough for the Gators.

I was so glad to see them come back against the Ugly Pumpkins.

Really hate it for them. They have a great offense, but I'll be curious to see how they develop the new guys.

This is another aspect of SEC play that other conferences don't take into account. You have to have depth in the SEC, because injuries are going to happen. I hate it for these players, but GA has been recruiting well for years. They should have the depth to handle it as long as the injuries don't keep piling up.

I think the cleat grabbed the ground when he got hit in the hip, so his knee popped to the left, which it isn't designed to do.
Yep - I thought that it might have been the hip because of the angle, but it turned out to be the knee.

Marshall finished the season with 56 carries for 246 yards and one TD, but he was off to a big start against Tennessee before a low (clean) hit by Vols’ DB Cam Sutton
This is the double edged sword to the new rules.

I hate it for these young men. They work hard all year long & then "wham" .... one play can cause a season ending injury. Hated to see the tears streaming down Marshall's face yesterday. His Dad was right there with him trying his best to console him. :(

Yea, the shot with his dad was a little hard to take.

Not a UGA fan, but I always want to beat the best. Tough breaks, but it happens. All teams have injuries, it's what the game is. In 2009, Hightower missed 3/4 of the season, Ingram missed some games in 2010, and we lost Fowler, Hart, and Bell among others last year.

They do seem to have a bit of an "injury bug" this year though I'll admit that.

I'm not getting the connection between the hit on Marshall and the targeting rule. I've seen corners hitting receivers low for years. It was just a bad break IMO. In fact, it's another example of a defender trying to tackle someone without wrapping him up.

I also believe the targetting rule will cause more knee and leg injuries. Against Geo State on one play Vinnie came in real low where normally he would have hit the guy high trying to knock the ball out. The guys just do not want to take a chance on being ejected. This in the long run will cause more of the real low hits. It seems the refs are over reacting to the rule and the players are going to change to protect themselves from ejection.
