I posted a video in another thread but made me think it deserves it’s own thread and we need some more feel good stories in these times. If you have a good video of an inspirational sports story, I’d love to see you post it and I’m sure others would as well.

I would like for y’all to see the story of Utah State head coach Blake Anderson. Through his tragedy, he has saved some of his players lives.

This one is about Sark for those who don’t know about Saban and his coaches physicals every year. Saban lost his dad at an early age so he would make his staff take yearly physicals because of it. This is when Sark found out issues with his heart. So literally Saban did not just save Sark coaching life, but he saved his real life.

This is the story of Jake Olson who had eye cancer and the kindness of Pete Carrol when he was at USC when he found out that Jake was going to lose vision in his other eye.

As the father of a young man at age 18 who attempted to end his life due to struggles with addiction, I know how many young people are struggling. It is the reason I dedicate so much time to families in turmoil from addiction.

I got lucky. Someone found my son before he died and got help. I grieve for those that were not as fortunate as I.

I’m so glad that someone found him, as a teacher I have had taught thousands of kids over the years and I have tried to always look for the signs. I work with elementary kids so it is not as bad at that level but it has started trickling down to younger and younger students. I have dealt with depression my whole life and we have lost a few former students and it just breaks my heart.
