Is Bama that good, or is the competition not so good?

I'm just a little tired of hearing the talking heads (espn, sirius radio,...) talking about how Bama has had an easy road except for A&M. First, we easily should have beaten A&M by 21. Second, I have watched in person or on TV every game this year and my thought is we make teams surrender. Funny how UT was real good after nearly beating uga and then slapping the gamecocks, but when we systematically destroy their will power it means UT is a not so good football team.
I am not implying we can't be beat on a given Saturday, but Bama is the one making teams look bad IMO.

I honestly think we're at a different level as compared to any other team in college football right now..At the 1st of the season, of course we had issues replacing what we lost on the OLine, that was expected, now this is a well oiled machine..If we beat LSU convincingly, I honestly think at the end of the year, this will be Coach Saban's best team he's ever produced..

That's how it usually stated when it comes to Bama...the teams Bama is about to face are good and should provide a much needed challenge. Once the game is over and Bama has destroyed them, all of a sudden, they weren't as good as we thought...LOL.

I don't get caught up into what the talking heads say. We are at a unique place in Alabama history, unlike the 60's and 70's, we actually benefit from being in the SEC. There was so much bias back then that we often were ripped off when we were legitimately deserving of being the National Champions (just look to '66 and '77). Now we are considered the best of the best and just need to win and we are there... Great time to be a Bama fan!

It's just a ploy to keep from giving Bama credit. Look, people are SICK TO DEATH of Alabama winning. We were on "upset alert" against Ole Miss. The country nervously waited for that game because that was one of the games the experts could see us losing. Brando, ESPN etc. just KNEW!!!!! JUST KNEW!!!! That was the week Bama got upset. But to their disappointment Bama monkey raped Ole Miss in front of god and everybody at a tune of 25-0. All of a sudden Ole Miss was "overrated". They were so "overrated" they ran the up and down the field on #6 LSU for a victory. Then came the Tennessee game. Tennessee was the next "upset alert", granted not as a big as the Ole Miss game but still. You had several predicting a possible upset. What happens? 35-0 going into halftime hushed all the upset alert folks and Tennessee went back to being bad. So there you have it. Bama has not gone away like many wanted them to after the 2009 national championship. Unfortunately for the rest of the country it has turned into college football's version of Ground Hog Day. Bama, Bama and more Bama each year. People have grown tired of the winning. That is except Bama fans. So each beatdown Bama administers is viewed by the naysayers as "The other team just wasn't that good." But when Oregon or Fla St reels off four to five straight wins against equal or lesser competition they are considered "dominant".

Did you hear the chick on Sirius College Sports this morning with Brando elaberating on how Coach Saban "threatened" the students if they left early? I had to turn it off!

I think that many of your fans do the same things. You play up your opponents before a game, and then rip them after beating them badly. Neither the media nor the fans can have it both ways. Either Alabama really is that good, or your opponents are that weak. Watching Alabama demolish the rest of the college football world since 2008 has me believing that it is Alabama. I mean, even in your losses you have looked pretty darned good to me.

That said, no team is so good that they can just roll their helmet out on the field and win. Alabama still has to show up. But when Alabama plays well, Alabama wins - even if the other team has someone like Manziel/Evans setting records during the game.

BTW, I don't think that this is to discredit Alabama. As much as the rest of the college football world is ready for someone else to win, they still have Alabama at #1.

We have not had to play a full second half since aTm. We've put it on major cruise control in most cases. Let's say an LSU, awbie, USCe, or Oregon forces us to play 3 hard quarters..... I don't think they'd have the gas in the tank to play the 4th. JMO.

I agree. There are some (Kannell) with an obvious agenda to discredit us (whether to boost their own team or just insult us, idk).

i think we'll have a better idea how good we are after the lsu game. if we destroy them like we've destroyed everyone else (but for aTm) then it's safe to say we're way above the rest of the competition. if it's another nail biter, it's probably safe to say our competition to that point wasn't as good as some may have thought. that said, ultimately, we just need to win all our games.

I think Alabama may actually be that good. This team is sort of a combination of the 2011 and 2012 teams and has an opportunity to be very, very special.

In addition to the point made about RTO about being rested (Oregon is probably just as rested or close to it since they no hits in the PAC), don't forget that while lost players (injuries, off the field stuff) have devastated other teams.....Bama has just continued to obliterate teams while rotating new troops in. We are deep and we are fresh.
