Yeah most of us hate them (and those that don’t need to turn in their fan card) but…

Everyone says they need to join a conference. It seems from comments on the Dan Patrick Show that the ACC may have cut their nose off to spite their face. Regions really don’t matter any more it seems. Does the SEC let that big fish go to the BIG?
Now I think they’d want to try a Texas/Big12 type of deal and we know that won’t float, but having that extra set of eyes on the conference when it’s time to renew licensing rights could be an absolute platinum mine for the rest of the conference.
What says the board?

Notre Dame in the SEC. Interesting.

I do like their coach, I think he's a good one.

If that trigger were pulled and Notre Dame said yes.....we'd have 17. Notre Dame would compete in the upper half of the league.

Would we add an 18th to match the Big10.

No, never.

Also, I can't imagine they would ever consider joining the SEC with as much disdain as they normally have for Southern states.

Absolutely not, the last thing we need is another sexat who thinks the world revolves around them despite their being irrelevant for the last 40 years.

Nope, no way.

They wouldn't join the SEC anyway - they're too scared to play BYU - B.Y.U - you think they're willing to play a real football schedule?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

We already have too many teams. We don't need any more. There is zero benefit to adding another team, beyond just more money for the conference. The issue is that the money comes at the cost of championships. Imo we are going to see the SEC win championships less frequently when we move to 9 games because the SEC will just cannibalize each other in the regular season, leaving teams in worse shape in the teams than any other conference.

Notre Dame should be forced to join a conference, but I definitely don't want it to be the SEC. I don't want any part of that faux elitist-minded group. After how they threw the ACC under the bus today, I hope their actions blow up in their face. Did they expect the ACC to not push for their actual conference team (Miami) to get into the playoff over the team that is only part of the conference when it's convenient? What's funny is that I actually think they did expect that.

To be clear…I hate noter dang. I’m not saying I’m a proponent of this, it was just a thought. And we know the PTB only thinks about the dollar signs they could bring in.
