Is The Game On TV?

TELEVISION INFORMATION:

*The Alabama-Southern Mississippi football game on Saturday, October 16 will be a pay-per-view telecast in Alabama and Mississippi. Kickoff is slated for 2:37 p.m. (CDT).

*David Crane, former Tide quarterback Tyler Watts and former USM quarterback Reggie Collier will call the action from the booth, while Chris Stewart will be on the sidelines.

*The telecast will be available throughout Alabama and Mississippi on local cable systems, as well as satellite systems. It will be offered on the DISH Network and DirecTV in Alabama and Mississippi only.

*In Alabama and Mississippi, large C-band users may purchase the game by calling 1-800-TVSTARS.

*In other states, fans may purchase the game through ESPN Game Plan, where available.
 
yeah, the DirectTV people are, yet again, sending mixed messages about who gets the game and who doesn't.

on one of the channels, it says that the game is only available in Bama and miss. Then on the channel that shows the maps of the US with coverage areas highlighted in gold, it shows that Bama and miss are the only two states where the game ISN'T included in the GamePlan package.

i hate direcTV because of GamePlan. it's such a tease.
 
basically, if you live in ATL, you won't know whether you're getting the game or not until kickoff due to the fact that many of the BAMA games are blacked out in the ATL region on the maps they show.

but SOMETIMES... yes, SOMETIMES you'll get the game anyway. i.e. Western Carolina. we went to Smith's thinking it would be blacked out like it usually is. then Smith's never could get the game to pull up on their dish system so, disheartened, we got in the car and went home during the 2nd quarter. upon arrival at home, i flip on the station just to check and THERE WE ARE!!!
