I just checked the NCAA (National Coalition Against Alabama) web page, and Auburn is not credited with a National Championship in 2004 by any NCAA recognized source. This is the same site that gives Alabama 17 National Championships and Auburn 4 I believe. Believe it or not, an Online poll created in Opelika did not make NCAA's list, sorry but maybe next year. Anyway, sorry Auburn, no title in '04

Only Auburn could go 13-0 in the SEC in the 21st century and still not get at least a share of a national championship.

Auburn headed stepchild

Driving back from T-town after games, I caught a couple of AU games on the radio. I know that they lost their broadcaster last year, but the announcers were horrible. I have never heard so much complaining in my life and I hope that I never do again. Like everyone else, I do not know how a 13-0 team in the SEC cannot be crowned with a national championship. I guess if you act like an Auburn headed stepchild you will always be treated like an Auburn headed stepchild.

They got a name for the winners in the world.................. You know the rest!

 Someone else here posted a quote a couple of weeks or so ago, i.e., Auburn = the Rodney Dangerfield of college football! I can't remember who posted it but I thought it was hilarious.

Not that I am a big Auburn fan, but I don't blame them for claiming a share of the NC. They went undefeated in the toughest conference in the country. I know fans from UA and Tn and all SEC schools would be screaming for recognition if they had achieved what Auburn did this year. I congradulate them or anyone in our conference for going undefeated.

Maybe I would have felt the same way had they not completely taken things out of hand, which they did. Actually, come to think of it, I wouldn't have felt the same way, I still think USC deserves it. :biggrin2:

Yeah they were pretty impressive against La Monroe, The Citadel and La Tech not to mention squeeking past us and the Hokies, as far as going undefeated yeah they deserve kudos for that but a share of the title not when #1 mops up the floor with #2, sorry barners 13 + 0 does not = #1

Lol! Just goes to show that when the "chips" are down (Pun intended), and they win all their games, they STILL can't bring home the hardware.
