Colorado is a joke of an athletic department but they do make a lot of money in the PAC. McElwain will have a good chance to own that state. Obviously, his early discipline of trouble makers has paid off.

I watched almost the whole game. I was cheering for them like they were bama. CSU could have quit early and they didn't. They kept fighting. By the 4th quarter they were imposing their will on the buffs. It looked familiar.

Don't know much about Colorado State's rivalry games but would assume Colorado is one of them. Talking about getting your rivalry game over early. You would think that game would be at the end of the year. Congrats to McElwain. Hope he succeeds in a big way at CSU.

CU-CSU is the biggest rivalry in the state. Nebraska is probably the bigger rivalry for Colorado from their Big 8/Big 12 days but that is a huge game and CSU hasn't exactly been a pushover for CU either over the last decade (they've beaten them several times). As it stands right now, CSU is probably CU's biggest historical rival.

The win is huge for Coach Mac though as it adds a good bit of legitimacy to his program right off the bat. CU has fallen off but it's still a win against a power conference team with middle-tier MWC talent. With Boise State leaving and TCU gone, there is no reason why CSU can't position themselves as a power in that conference.

I commented in another thread that watching them on Saturday was kind of watching "Bama-lite". They dominated both lines of scrimmage. Colorado doesn't exactly have a have SEC caliber defense (as rgw said), but CSU won't be seeing SEC caliber defenses in the MWC either. I think that they will win a lot of games this year.

If he keeps this up, will be putting himself in a good position to take over the Bama job once Saban eventually retires. But that is putting the cart waaaaaay before the horse. ;)

I don't think people understand how Bad this team was 3-8 last year.
Coach Mac was something to see on the sidelines, just like CNS really into it. I recorded it & watched it twice, he won't be at CSU long but they will win. CJM is going to do Great!
