Maybe I should have read the article a little better to see if he was kidding, but I read that Joe Namath named his son Joe Willie? If he has a son, how old is he and did he play sport? I know he has a daughter in college. Just curious.

Joe Namath does not have a son. He has two daughters, Jessica Grace and Olivia Rose.

You must have read a story in the Bham News about Babe Laufenger who is an ex-NFL QB and current Dallas Cowboys broadcaster.

According to the article, he is a lifelong Joe Namath fanatic. He named his son Joe Willie. He was asked if it was difficult talking his wife into naming their first son Joe Willie. He replied, "Not hard at all. It was actually a prenuptial agreement. No Joe Willie, no marriage." He said he wanted to name the second son Johnny U., but she put her foot down.

Joe's my all-time favorite.

It's amazing that - after having knee surgery before his rookie season in NY - the Jets doctors told Sonny Werblin and Weeb Ewbank that the rehabbed knee would probably give Joe another four years of football.

Say whatever they want about him, but Joe was tough. He endured a LOT of pain throughout his career. The kind of pain and injuries that a lot of players today just will not play through.

I really don't remember seeing Joe play with the Jets. His days in NY were over when I started following the Jets in the late 70s.
